Patriots VS Colts, nothing more needs to be said...

Yes, this is the match-up we've all been waiting for.

The 8-0 New England Patriots play the 7-0 Indianapolis Colts in a rematch of the 2007 AFC championship game. Yes, both teams are undefeated heading for this Sunday's classic encounter and boy, you just know business is about to pick up this 2007-08 NFL football season.

First, the New England Patriots. Led by the best quarterback in the league right now, Tom Brady, the Patriots were able to engineer a dominant eight-game winning streak no team has able to put an end yet.

They are still on their way in becoming the second team in NFL history to post a perfect 16-0 regular season record since the Miami Dolphins did it in 1972 and with the way Tom Brady and the rest of his 'Brady Bunch' are trashing teams right now, averaging 40+ points per game, the '72 Dolphins record is in danger for sure. Of course, thanks to Randy Moss and all the other parts this New England team was able to put together in the offseason.

As for the Indianapolis Colts, it seems everybody is so fixated at the Patriots right now that the Colts are just breezing through the season STILL unnoticed. However, the Colts claim they like it that way as that will probably let them play without any pressure from the media.

Back in the 2007 AFC championship game, Peyton Manning led the Colts, engineering a BIG comeback in the second half to eliminate the Patriots to advance to Super Bowl XLI before winning it in Miami, Florida for their first championship in the Peyton Manning era.

Of course, Brady didn't have Randy Moss then. And yep, these guys were not scoring 40+ points per game yet like they are this season. This Sunday, expect the New England Patriots to outlast the Indianapolis Colts -6.5 baby.

Sorry Peyton but these Patriots are just invincible right now.

Can Antonio McDyess carry the Pistons as a Starter?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgYep, the man is back as a starter in the NBA.

For all ya'll who were able to watch Antonio McDyess before joining Detroit, you should then know how electrifying he was when he was still the young starting forward playing for the then struggling Denver Nuggets. Well, this 2007-08 NBA basketball season, it certainly looks like he'll be starting again and for the Pistons' sake, let's hope this experiment works out for them.

With Chris Webber continuing to wither as a bona fide NBA star while father time continues to slow him down, the Detroit Pistons are looking at Antonio McDyess to fill C-Webb's spot in the starting lineup.

Sure, after a few seasons playing from the Detroit Pistons bench, Antonio McDyess has been able to become one of the best reserves in the league today. The question now is, can he play at the same level as a starter?

I know what ya'll are probably thinking. What in the hell is the difference between a starter and a reserve anyway? Well for one, a reserve can first watch the flow of the game, judge it's intensity and figure out just what one can do to improve his team's chances of winning a game.

A starter don't have such privileges. And compared to reserves, starters probably face more scrutiny because if you are starting for an NBA team, that means you must be one of the top five best players in your team.

Either that or you're just spooning with the coach.

Sure, Antonio McDyess was a very important reserve for the Detroit Pistons. But did you know that since McDyess joined the Pistons, they haven't won any titles yet? And to think that the team was coming off a championship year then when they shocked the world by beating the Los Angeles Lakers in five games.

Still, McDyess believes it's the right move for him.

''I think it's going to be a good move for me,'' Antonio McDyess said. ''I think it's working to my advantage. The (other starters) are going to get so much attention; people aren't going to put their attention on me.''

Hey, that's what Chris Webber thought too.

2007 NCAA College Football Week 10 Betting Picks

The revolving door atop the BCS rankings continue to spin.

Yep, and with that, we saw the USC Trojans drop even further to as low as No.19 this 2007 NCAA college football season. You read it, the same team picked to win the BCS national championship this year are now as pathetic as the... um... Miami Heat.

Meanwhile, teams like the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Boston College Eagles and the LSU Tigers continue to dominate the rest of the field and I reckon we'll be seeing the same thing on Week 10.

First, the Buckeyes, they'll be facing the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday in what should be a good match-up. The Badgers, at 7-2, will be looking to continue their climb in the BCS rankings and probably solidify their bid for a BCS bowl game. Of course, visiting the Buckeyes in Columbus is a huge problem.

The Ohio State Buckeyes haven't lost a single game at home, posting an incredible 5-0 record. Oh yeah, the Badgers being 1-2 on the road certainly doesn't help their cause this Saturday too. Expect the Buckeyes to continue their dominance over the rest of the field come game time.

The Boston College Eagles, on the other hand, face somewhat an enviable task of hosting the Florida State Seminoles at Alumni Stadium. Sure, the Seminoles haven't done much this season, barely posting a decent record of 5-3. Sure, these Seminoles are currently sitting fourth in the ACC, letting Boston College have their way with a perfect 4-0 mark in conference play.

However, the Seminoles are still the Seminoles, one of the highly recognized programs in all of college football and it'll be a test to these Boston College Eagles whether they really should be ranked as the No.2 team in the nation.

And I'm betting that the Florida State Seminoles have what it takes to shock Boston College come game time.

Last but certainly not the least, No.3 LSU Tigers face the Alabama Crimson Tide in what could be a highly contested football game. These two teams are evenly matched and that's saying despite the difference between their national rankings.

The Tigers are ranked No.3 while the Alabama Crimson Tide sit at No.17, however, this could be another contest where an upset is possible. With LSU visiting the Crimson Tide who are 4-1 at home, lady luck will probably side with the Tide and see LSU drop even further down the BCS rankings.

College Football Week 10 2007 NCAA College Football Season

Dallas Cowboys, Happy of Wade Phillips this NFL Season

seth-edward-oneal.jpgThe Dallas Cowboys are not on the same level with the Patriots yet.

Now that THAT is out of the way, yep, the Dallas Cowboys are off to one of their best starts in franchise history this 2007-08 NFL football season and you just know that they owe that to new head coach Wade Phillips.

Of course, the Dallas Cowboys are smiling. Yes, even controversial wideout Terrell Owens who, after tumultuous times in San Francisco and Philly, probably is happy about his team, his teammates and his season for a change.

''I can't say enough about what this coaching atmosphere has brought to this locker room,'' Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens said. ''I think every guy can share a little bit about what these coaches mean to them.''

Hell, Owens is so happy about this year's run that he has all praises for every coach in the Dallas Cowboys locker room.

''I can't say enough about Ray Sherman and the job that he's done with us as receivers,'' Owens said. ''You know, just communication, that's what it's all about. Just the philosophy and Wade and him coming in and treating us as men is very much appreciated in this locker room.''

At the other side of the ball, Dallas Cowboys defensive linebacker Greg Ellis agrees with the controversial receiver. With a 6-1 start, he should be right?

''The chemistry here is good,'' Greg Ellis said. ''The way Wade has chosen to run this team right now, it's working real well.''

''Some coaches like to create that barrier between coach and player and never have that line crossed. Some coaches say, 'OK, we're all in this boat together. We want to win. You win, coaches win, the whole organization wins.' We're now in that kind of system where the coaches and players are more willing to work with each other.''

That is if they start losing and Owens starts talking in a different tone.

2007-08 NFL Football Week 8 Betting Picks

Let's stop looking at the undefeated Patriots and Colts for a while.

While the Patriots and the Colts each have their respective undefeated seasons still intact, we come into Week 8 of the 2007-08 NFL football season still with two teams with no wins whatsoever.

Yes, the St. Louis Rams and the Miami Dolphins welcome the eight week of football still looking for their first win of the season. Funny huh? While the Pats and the Colts simply continue to dominate on that football field, these two teams continue to let the rest of the league gang-rape them over and over again.

For the St. Louis Rams, they have the surprising Cleveland Browns visiting Edward Jones Dome, this Sunday. If this was two years ago, I'd probably say the Rams will simply trash the Browns. But it's 2007 and this year, the Rams suck. Simple as that.

For what it's worth, the Rams will probably be having their star running back, Steven Jackson back. However, they'd be facing a red hot Cleveland Browns team that finally found something that works. That my friend is third-year quarterback Derek Anderson.

The first time we saw Anderson, he was looking quite good in what already was a lost season last year in a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now that he is patrolling the Cleveland Browns offense full-time, all of a sudden, they found themselves competing for the AFC North title with Pittsburgh and the Baltimore Ravens.

Derek Anderson ranks No.12 among the top quarterbacks in the league today. Behind only to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer and in front of, get this, Seattle Seahawks leader Matt Hasselbeck. Yes, that's how good Anderson is this season and expect the Browns to give the Rams their eight loss of the season. Ouch.

Cleveland Browns to win -3.5 over the struggling St. Louis Rams.

Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins travel to Wembley Stadium in London to face the red-hot New York Giants. Eli Manning was able to lead his Giants to win five straight contests and I expect them to win their sixth straight against the struggling Dolphin defense.

How can I tell for sure? Well, with the Miami Dolphins facing a monster defender like Michael Strahan without their star running back, Ronnie Brown, who is out for the rest of their pathetic season, no one in the Miami Dolphins roster would be able to score against New York.

Oh yeah, did I mention that Dolphins QB Trent Green is now contemplating on retirement after getting yet another concussion? Jeez... Expect the Giants to win -6.5 over pathetic Miami.

Although I told ya'll that we'd be keeping our eyes away from undefeated teams this week, I can't. For one, it's Sunday Night Football, and two, it's the New England Patriots playing. Yep, mighty New England will host the Washington Redskins in what many are saying is a 'trap game' for the Patriots before their epic clash with the Indianapolis Colts on Week 9.

Trap game? I don't think so. In what should be a one-sided affair, the Patriots should have no problems dropping all these touchdowns against the Redskin defense. And with Tom Brady dropping six touchdowns last week, we're probably in for an encore performance.

Pick the Patriots to beat the Washington Redskins -13.5 on Sunday night.

As always, here's the rest of them picks for Week 8.

Detroit Lions over the Chicago Bears -3.5

Indianapolis Colts over the Carolina Panthers -6.5

Tennessee Titans over the Oakland Raiders -6.5

Philadelphia Eagles over the Minnesota Vikings -3.5

Pittsburgh Steelers over the Cincinnati Bengals -6.5

Buffalo Bills over the New York Jets -1.5 (yes, I'm serious... the Bills will win...)

San Diego Chargers over the Houston Texans -6.5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the Jacksonville Jaguars -1.5

San Francisco 49ers over the New Orleans Saints -3.5

Green Bay Packers over the Denver Broncos -3.5

How Bad will the Heat SUCK in Miami this NBA Season?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgAnd as much as Pat Riley probably will hope I'm referring to the weather there when he reads this, I'm not.

The Miami Heat SUCK. Plain and simple. They suck last year when they were eliminated from the playoffs in the first goddamn round. And in this 2007-08 NBA basketball season, guess what, they'll probably suck even worse.

In what should've been a tune-up for NBA teams, the NBA preseason sure was ice cold to the Heat (pardon the pun...) as they went on, running aimlessly on the court to put up, get this, NO WINS WHATSOEVER. Hee hee...

Yes, the Miami Heat just kept on losing in preparation for the NBA season and although the preseason has no indication whatsoever on how the team will do when the regular season officially starts, it does give you a clear idea what to expect.

Miami Heat head coach Pat Riley, (yes, the sick fuck decided to coach yet again...) don't have any answers whatsoever of what's wrong with his team. In one preseason loss, Riley said he was looking for the right combination on the court and he found none.

''I'm still trying to find something I can go with,'' Pat Riley said before the Heat's 104-98 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum, one of many preseason losses Miami had coming to the regular season.

''You tune up when you've got all your pistons and sparkplugs in there. We don't.''

Oh yeah, the Miami Heat sure has a lot of ''missing sparkplugs'' alright. For starters, they lost all their centers to injuries. That's starter Shaquille O'Neal who is out with injured quadriceps, backup Alonzo Mourning out with a foot injury and third-string center Michael Doleac, who'll probably not be playing even if he's as healthy as a horse, is out with a hip injury.

Wayne Simien is also out with a knee injury and perhaps the most significant of all, Dwyane Wade is still trying to reattach his shoulder after my boy, Shane Battier, knocked it loose in Houston last season.

2007-08 NFL Football Season goes to London as Giants and Dolphins play at Wembley Stadium

Probably because these guys want to let silly Europeans know what ''football'' is all about.

And in case you didn't get that, let me break it to you gently. You see, football means an entirely different thing in Europe than in the United States, where the NFL is from obviously. For some reason, what's football for Europe means soccer in the U.S. which makes you wonder what the heck will these Europeans be calling the game when the NFL gets there this 2007-08 NFL football season.

Hee hee... And yes, the NFL will be live in Europe as the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins play their Week 8 match-up straight from London. This would be the league's first regular season game played there, second regular season game abroad as the NFL usually have these international adventures, if you will, only for the preseason.

The first NFL regular season game played abroad was the game between the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants back in October 2, 2005 in Mexico. The Cardinals simply trashed the 49ers, 31-14, it was the fourth game of the regular season for both teams.

A crowd of 103,467 gathered in Azteca Stadium for it.

The NFL will be hoping for the same success when the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins dance for London. The Giants are red-hot winning five games in a row while the Dolphins are ice-cold, losing seven straight.

And as if Miami's troubles was enough, the city has to witness the Miami Heat start their season. He he... (Sorry, I just needed to let that one out of the way...) Seriously, Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown is now out for the rest of the season with a torn knee ligament.

He'd probably miss the trip to Europe.

2007 NCAA College Football Week 9 Betting Picks

Apparently, it's not only the NFL that has teams still in pursuit of perfection.

But then again, the ranking system in the 2007 NCAA college football season is so fucked up, teams have no choice but to just try win all their games. Lose one and they'll see their hopes of playing for the BCS national title fade faster than Kobe Bryant's wicked jumper.

This year in college football, the Ohio State Buckeyes (go Buckeyes!) sit on top of the food chain with an undefeated record of 8-0 while the Arizona State Sun Devils (of all teams...) and the Kansas City Jayhawks are still climbing with their respective perfect seasons still intact. Who will remain undefeated this Week 9 of the college football season? Of course, we just have to start with the No.1 team of the nation, the Buckeyes from Ohio State.

While Greg Oden is postponing his anticipated dominance in the 2007-08 NBA basketball season, the Ohio State Buckeyes are not postponing anything this season. They're that eager to return to the BCS national championship game after the Florida Gators shocked them last time they were there.

The Buckeyes visit the Penn State Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium Saturday and with a ridiculously powerful Buckeye defense ready to rock University Park, I'm not expecting the Lions to be shocking anyone come game time.

Hell, the Ohio State Buckeyes are coming into this game with an undefeated regular season streak of more than two goddamn years. It has been that crazy folks. For 26 straight regular season games, these Buckeyes simply dominated their rivals, with their last loss on October 8, 2005.

To whom did these Buckeyes lost to? Ironically, it's to these Nittany Lions, 17-10, at the very stadium they'll be visiting this weekend. Sure, one could say, 'hey, Penn State just might do it again this season!' The only question is, would you bet on that? I won't.

The Arizona State Sun Devils, after the mad shuffle of teams in the BCS rankings, found themselves sitting at No.4 for the nation's best teams. They'll be taking on the California Golden Bears, a team that were just like them a few weeks back, surprised to be ranked in the upper echelons of college football.

Well, since then, the California Golden Bears lost two straight games, dropping to their lowest ranking this season while the Sun Devils have climbed to their highest in 11 long years. I don't know about you but I have a feeling Cali will bring them down back to reality as well this Saturday.

Hell, these Sun Devils were just fortunate enough to play pathetic teams with a combined record of a dismal 4-13. And as much trouble Cali had the past couple of weeks they will still be coming in their game against the Sun Devils as the first ranked team Arizona State would be facing all season. Expect Cali to win.

Last but certainly not the least, the Kansas City Jayhawks will be playing the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field in Texas. Sure, these Jayhawks may have posted two key road victories on their way to their best start in 12 years.

However, on Saturday, they'd be facing one of the best Texas teams in college football today and I reckon the Kansas City Jayhawks would be ending their pursuit of perfection this season. Heck, these guys haven't won a single game at Kyle Field after four tries. It will be their fifth this Saturday and with them looking to have a commanding 8-0 mark since 1909, expect them to crumble under the pressure.

Who will win the 2008 BCS national championship in NCAA college football? AcesAce sportsbook has the odds.

Florida Gators +500

Ohio State Buckeyes +2500

Texas Longhorns +900

Lawyer Ron, 2007 Breeders' Cup Classic Favorite

seth-edward-oneal.jpgYep, this time, it's Lawyer Ron, the heavy favorite to win this year's Breeders' Cup main event.

This year's Breeders' Cup betting extravaganza culminates with the 2007 Breeders' Cup Classic and from all the favorites to win the main race, Lawyer Ron tops 'em all, beating Kentucky Derby champ Street Sense and Preakness winner Curlin.

A runaway winner in the Whitney Handicap and the Woodward Stakes, Lawyer Ron comes to the 2007 Breeders' Cup Classic as the main pick to win and bring in the most amount of dough.

One oddsmaker at Monmouth Park, Brad Thomas, is not surprised. ''Lawyer Ron was made the favorite because of his consistent excellence in his last three races. It was very difficult to separate the first three horses,'' Thomas said referring to Lawyer Ron, Street Sense and Curlin.

Monmouth Park's Breeders' Cup wagering warfare this Saturday will be a nine-horse field with Lawyer Ron a 5-2 bet to win it followed by Street Sense and Curlin, both picked with 3-1 odds.

Any Given Saturday follows the top three with only 4-1 odds of winning the Classic despite winning three straight races, including the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth. Hard Spun on the other hand, was a mere shell of it's former ''predetermined form'' after the Triple Crown series with only 8-1 odds to beat the rest of the field.

Speaking of the rest of the field, Tiago has 12-1 odds, Diamond Stripes has 15-1, George Washington has 20-1 and finally, Awesome Gem is the longshot with 30-1 odds of winning the Classic main event.

Street Sense will be coming out of the No.2 post while Lawyer Ron, to be ridden by none other than John Velasquez, will be leaving from the rail. Hard Spun drew No.8 and is expected to set the pace with the Classic's heavy favorite.

Who will win the 2007 Breeders' Cup Classic? Bodog has the odds.

Can Rockies retaliate in Game 3 and beat Red Sox when the 2007 MLB World Series shifts to Colorado?

Game 3. You just know the Rockies have to win this one.

Otherwise, they will go down 3-0 to this Boston Red Sox team focused on winning the 2007 MLB World Series to become champions of the world once again.

The Colorado Rockies will be home for games 3, 4 and 5 beginning this Saturday. After going down 2-1 in Game 2 to the Boston Red Sox, the Rockies are probably happy that they're back at home, hell, they won 11 of their last 12 home games anyway.

Yes, the Colorado Rockies are at their best when they play at home and they will certainly need all the home cooking they can get for Game 3. And for their sake, being at home in Colorado is definitely a huge home advantage.

With the altitude, the humidor and the spacious outfield, the Boston Red Sox will probably need some time to get used to all this. For the Rockies, this is home and of course, they've played here more than any team this season.

The Colorado Rockies won some of their biggest games at home as well.

The Rockies won a thrilling National League wild-card tiebreaker over the San Diego Padres, a division clincher against the Philadelphia Phillies and engineered a big comeback over the Arizona Diamondbacks to give the franchise its first ever National League pennant.

These guys were simply dominant at home during the regular season as well, posting a 51-31 record at home which ranks No.1 in the National League.

Can these guys get it going and win the next three contests at home? They better win Game 3 of the 2007 MLB World Series first because going down 3-0 to the Boston Red Sox is definitely a bad idea.

Who will win the 2007 MLB World Series Championship? Bodog has the odds.

2007-08 NFL Football Week 7 Betting Picks

It has been seven weeks of NFL football folks and we still have two teams yet to taste defeat on that football field.

Yep, the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts, two rivals from the AFC, are still undefeated and are still on that road to match the mark set by the 1972 Miami Dolphins, that being finishing a single season PERFECT. And as the 2007-08 NFL football season heads for Week 7, you can bet your ass we'll be watching these two teams and wait who'll blink first.

The New England Patriots, the heavy favorites to win it all this season, ironically have the now pathetic Miami Dolphins on Sunday as they try to keep their bid to match the mark set by these Dolphins' 1972 counterparts alive.

This year's version of the Miami Dolphins is ridiculously pathetic. Let me get that one out first. While the '72 Dolphins went for a season undefeated, these Dolphins are going through a season winless. Hee hee... They are currently hobbling at a humiliating 0-6 stand, letting them become only one of two teams yet to taste a win this year. The St. Louis Rams being the other one.

Expect the New England Patriots to bitch-slap the Miami Dolphins -13.5 at home.

On Sunday Night Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers visit INVESCO Field to play the Denver Broncos. After a disappointing season following their Super Bowl win, this year's version of the Steelers are back with what they do best and that's on defense.

Hell, the 'Steel Curtain' leads the league on defense, giving up only 235 yards per game. And while Pittsburgh and Denver probably cancel each other out in terms of limiting a team's passing game (both Denver and Pittsburgh rank 1 and 2 respectively...) Ben Roethlisberger is still waaay better than Denver's young quarterback Jay Cutler. Of course, the Steelers also have one more thing that Denver doesn't.

That being one killer running back.

Willie Parker is slowly becoming one of the elite running backs in the league. Sure, he is yet to make plenty of trips to the endzone this season but with a 100+ yards per game guaranteed any given week, Parker makes it THAT much easier for the Steelers to score.

Expect the Pittsburgh Steelers to run over the Denver Broncos on Sunday night -6.5 folks.

The defending Super Bowl champions Indianapolis Colts, probably forgotten already with the ridiculously strong performances coming from their rival Patriots each week, are still undefeated too and when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at ALLTEL Stadium for Monday Night Football, expect these Colts to keep their undefeated streak going.

Why? Well, for one, Peyton Manning is still playing. Two, he still has two of the best receivers in football today, Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. While David Garrard probably has stabilized the quarterback situation in Jacksonville for now, the Jaguars don't have anyone else to carry them past Indianapolis other than Garrard on Monday night.

Maurice Jones-Drew you say? After becoming such a fantasy football steal last season, Maurice Jones-Drew is having quite a slow year so far, scoring only three touchdowns for 307 yards after six weeks of football. Expect the Colts' Joseph Addai to smoke his ass faster than a Lambo on a broken-down Toyota.

Pick the Indianapolis Colts to win -6.5 over the Jacksonville Jaguars to remain on top of the AFC South.

Here's the rest of them picks for Week 7.

Washington Redskins over the Arizona Cardinals -6.5

New Orleans Saints over the Atlanta Falcons -3.5

Baltimore Ravens over the Buffalo Bills -6.5

New York Giants over the San Francisco 49ers -3.5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the Detroit Lions -3.5

LA Lakers could see the end of Kobe Bryant Era Soon

seth-edward-oneal.jpgYep, and that could be sooner than these guys think.

As the 2007-08 NBA basketball season draws closer, the Los Angeles Lakers probably have no idea that the era of Kobe Bryant, yes, the same guy who singlehandedly dropped 81 for the second most points ever scored by a player in a single game, could end soon.

And to think that the Los Angeles Lakers let somebody like a Shaquille O'Neal go just to pave the way for what has been the Kobe Bryant show underneath the bright lights of Hollywood the past few years.

With the way Kobe Bryant demanded for a trade last May, dark days are indeed ahead for Tinseltown. Oh yeah, the guy just sat out his third straight practice session with his current team, which probably means Kobe has no intention whatsoever playing with these sick fucks anymore.

As expected, the press were on Kobe's ass, asking him if he has indeed played his final game dressed in purple and gold. Kobe's response was as dumb as someone I know from work.

''I don't know, talk to Mitch and Mr. Buss about that,'' Kobe Bryant said, referring to the Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak and the team owner Jerry Buss. ''I'm just getting ready. If I'm here, I'm ready to strap it up.''

For a guy who demanded for a trade a few months ago as if his life depends on it, this is definitely not something you were expecting to hear. Adding more confusion to what the Kobe Bryant era in Los Angeles will look like as the 2007-08 NBA basketball season draws closer.

''My job is to play the game and get ready to play the game. That's what I'm doing. I guess people are just intrigued by what's going on around here. I understand that. I have a job to do. One thing I said at training camp was that I didn't want this to be a distraction.''

Week 8 of the college football season will be having a Sunday night game for only the third time this year.

It'll be the Southern Miss Golden Eagles visiting the Marshall Thundering Herd as the 2007 NCAA college football season continues at Edwards Stadium in Huntington, West Virginia.

The Marshall Thundering Herd, despite all that ''We are Marshall'' crap, are yet to win a single game on that college football field. You've got to wonder when will these guys finally wake up.

Their latest loss, and there have been many this season, were to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Tulsa QB Paul Smith smothered the Thundering Herd defense for 385 yards, not to mention two touchdowns and another when he ran with it.

The result? Another disappointing loss for Marshall, 38-31, extending what has been a pathetic losing streak to SIX GAMES.

For what it's worth, the Thundering Herd, despite all the disappointments they've been having so far, are excited that they'll finally be returning home for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles since New Hampshire hammered them last September 15.

They're hoping that being at home will help them to finally get a win. They need it too because quite frankly, all that losing they've been having is getting quite ridiculous.

''We're excited. We are playing a very good football team in Southern Miss. We're going head-to-head with the NFL, but it's on national television,'' Marshall Thundering Herd head coach Mark Snyder said.

''We have a chance to represent our university against a very good football team. I feel like we match up fairly well with Southern Miss.''

Maybe so but against NFL's Sunday Night Football? Somebody crack this guy's head with a baseball bat.

Can Tony Gonzalez finally get the Kansas City Chiefs going this 2007-08 NFL Football Season?

As of press time, they are at a decent 3-3 mark.

Yep, after six weeks of the 2007-08 NFL football season, the Kansas City Chiefs are back at the .500 win mark after starting the year 0-2. They just scored their third win against the high-flying Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday, when their star tight end simply stole the F'n show.

It was the Tony Gonzalez show alright as the Kansas City Chiefs watched their tight end score two of their team's three touchdowns en route to a 27-20 win over Cincinnati.

Those two touchdowns Tony Gonzalez scored were record breaking touchdowns too. When he caught his first one in the first quarter, that immediately let him become the NFL all-time leader in touchdowns by a tight end, earning him a whopping 63 trips to the endzone in his career.

His 64th, his second TD of the game, was for good measure. And to simply knock off the Cincinnati Bengals for good too.

Tony Gonzalez has overtaken the TE touchdown record set by former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe, who caught 62 TDs in his NFL career. Gonzalez sure was waiting for this very day when he will be recognized as the best tight end receiver in all of football. After his milestone Sunday, he definitely should be seen as one.

Of course, the Kansas City Chiefs should start winning first. For now, Tony Gonzalez will relish the fact that he is now the league's premiere tight end touchdown machine. Yep, he will play that milestone TD catch over and over until somebody boinks him in the head.

''It wasn't the easiest [catch],'' said a grinning Tony Gonzalez. ''I had to go get it. I was like, 'I'm not letting this one get away. I've been waiting a long time for it.'''

Tony Gonzalez will now be trying to keep the Kansas City Chiefs rolling when they take on the Oakland Raiders next. The Raiders will be home but with them struggling with a 2-3 start, this rivalry game should see all red instead of silver and black.

Odds Favor Lewis Hamilton winning F1 Title in Brazil

Are you ready for the mother of all F1 finales?

I don't know about you but I dig Formula One. And boy, the 2007 F1 season sure has been the best year of any kind of racing I've seen so far. The worst one? Horses. But that's not what I'm trying to stress here.

Yes, the 2007 F1 world championship will be decided in the final race of the season. That's the 2007 Brazilian Grand Prix this Sunday as three drivers, McLaren - Mercedes teammates Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso try to win it for their team while Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari tries to snatch it away from both of them.

Sure, Lewis Hamilton, who still leads the F1 drivers' championship standings with 107 points, probably made life a little more difficult for him in the title chase after crashing out of the 2007 Chinese Grand Prix. However, the odds are still in his favor and if no similar mishap happens to the young British sensation, he'll become the first ever rookie to become champion in Formula One.

''I will approach the race in the same way, to win,'' Lewis Hamilton says. ''Some part of my mind will be focused on the end result, winning the world championship not the race, but I go to win. I understand the position I'm in and what I have to do. I aim on finishing on the podium and know I can't take risks. Maybe I took a risk at the last race.''

''I've got a lot of confidence in myself. It has to be a hard hit knowing the world championship was there and I didn't take it but it's still there to win. In spite of having a DNF in China I'm still in the lead and I've still got a good chance of winning so I'm feeling pretty cool as I'm in the best position to do that.''

''I'm mentally stronger after the weekend in China. Some drivers would be on the back foot, but I've taken the negatives and made them into positives.''

Lewis Hamilton only needs to finish better than Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen to win the F1 title or see both of them finish no better than 5th place.

Sooners back in form this 2007 College Football Season

seth-edward-oneal.jpgBut still, they have that sour taste in their mouths after dropping a game at Colorado.

Yeah sure, that's more than a couple of weeks ago, surely, with Oklahoma now standing at 6-1 this 2007 NCAA college football season, they probably have forgotten that upset already right?

Well, not quite. With the way the BCS rankings are put together as if an eight-year-old was doing it, losing a single game could prove to be huge if you want to stay in the hunt for the BCS title in January.

Last Saturday, they vented all their frustrations on the then unbeaten Missouri Tigers. The Oklahoma Sooners won 41-31 and although it was not really a statement game like some of us expected of Oklahoma, it was still a win that probably brought them back to BCS championship form.

Of course, Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops was happy about the win.

''To win against a good team here is good,'' Sooners coach Bob Stoops said. ''All wins are good, and I appreciate that part of it.''

The Oklahoma Sooners defense forced FOUR TURNOVERS last Saturday and one of those became their fourth touchdown of the season. Yep, these guys are definitely becoming Bears-like eh? Well, maybe not this version of the Chicago Bears but the NFC champion Bears of last season.

Oh yeah, redshirt freshman Sam Bradford is playing like a senior for the Oklahoma Sooners at quarterback too. He completed 24 of 34 passes for 266 pass yards and two touchdowns against a very unfortunate Missouri defense.

As of press time, the Oklahoma Sooners are lucky that despite dropping a game at Colorado, this season has been full of upsets lately that they are fortunate to sit at No.5 in the BCS rankings.

It'll only be a matter of time before the 'Boomer Sooner' nation gets on top of the mountain but when you have a powerhouse team like the Ohio State Buckeyes waiting for you, getting on top could be something you shouldn't be asking for.

Can Red Sox force Game 7 and beat the Indians Saturday?

Game 6 of the Boston - Cleveland series is this Saturday and just like last Thursday, Red Sox nation will be staring at elimination.

Yep, after having their backs against the wall, the Boston Red Sox pulled a 7-1 win over the Cleveland Indians in Game 5 to force a 6th game back in Boston this Saturday.

Thanks to ace pitcher Josh Beckett, the Cleveland Indians saw 11 of their bats striking out as the Boston Red Sox superstar only allowed a single run and five hits. Talk about dominance eh?

While Josh Beckett may have successfully masked Boston's flaws in Game 5, he wasn't able to make them all go away. And what's probably even worse is the fact that the Red Sox would have to go to another guy other than Beckett to force a Game 7 on Sunday.

Hell, for all we know, Game 6 of the 2007 American League Championship Series could be the last game the Boston Red Sox will ever play at Fenway Park. Curt Schilling will get the nod for the Red Sox against the Cleveland Indians in Game 6 but we all know how that turned out last time right?

The last time Curt Schilling pitched for the Boston Red Sox against them Cleveland sluggers, the Indians had a whopping 17 hits while scoring 13 runs back in Game 2 to tie the series and win what would be the first of three straight Cleveland victories.

Still, the Boston Red Sox feel optimistic coming into Game 6. Hell, we all saw them come back from huge deficits before in the playoffs right?

''I think we accomplished Part 1. We wanted to win this game and get it back to Boston. We have one more important game,'' Boston Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell said.

Boston better win this game on Saturday. They don't have a choice but to.

Fernando Alonso is confident he'll receive equal treatment from McLaren - Mercedes heading to Brazil

And in case you have no idea what's at stake this Sunday in Brazil, it's the 2007 F1 world championship.

After what has been an incredible 2007 F1 season, the world title is not going to be decided until the final race in Brazil concludes. All three drivers, Kimi Raikkonen from Ferrari and McLaren teammates, Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, each have a crack at it, making it a final three-way dance for the championship.

Of course, the focus is on the two McLaren - Mercedes drivers each jockeying for the world title. Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso have been going at each other's throats for most of the season and there's no better way of winning this rivalry than gloating in front of your teammate with the world title on your right hand.

Fernando Alonso, who already made it public that he'll be leaving McLaren by season's end, claims he's confident that McLaren will give him equal opportunity to win the title at the 2007 Brazilian Grand Prix despite the fact that he'll be switching teams when all of this is over.

''I am sure we are going to Brazil with full equality across the team and two cars capable of fighting for victory in the race and the championship,'' Fernando Alonso said.

''Although I am now only four points away from Lewis, I still need for there to be a lot of circumstances in my favor for me to win the drivers' title that are out of my control. But for sure I will be doing everything that is under my control to make it happen. I have to do my bit and then hope everything else falls into place.''

Lewis Hamilton leads the drivers' championship standings with 107 points while Fernando Alonso sits second with 103.

Kimi Raikkonen, on the other hand, has 100 and still has a shot at snatching the world title away from the two McLaren drivers in Brazil.

New England Patriots VS Dallas Cowboys on Sunday

Nothing else needs to be said.

In case you've been living under a rock lately, we just wanted you to know that everybody's talking about the Patriots - Cowboys game this Sunday. And while there are also quite a number of games to watch this Week 6 of the 2007-08 NFL football season, the Patriots - Cowboys game definitely tops it all.

Hell, the game's not even on ANY ''prime time'' slot and yet, everybody's really REALLY hyped up for it. Then again, it's probably just me.

ANYWAY, yep, the New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys face-off in a battle of unbeatens at Texas Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The key matchups for this game are definitely interesting too as Tom Brady matches up with Tony Romo while Randy Moss matches up with Terrell Owens.

And speaking of Terrell Owens, the Dallas Cowboys premiere receiver has already brought his usual ''T.O. flavor'' so to speak, coming to this game. Owens, as always, was back with his usual shenanigans before this Sunday's biggest game and get this, he didn't have to talk.

Owens probably figured that the media will just be all over him, waiting to catch whatever he has to say coming to his big matchup with yet another big-time receiver, New England Patriots wideout Randy Moss.

But instead of doing what he does best, and that's talk talk talk, he left a note for the media that probably says it all. Of course, you can bet your ass it'll have something about Randy Moss and that little thing where they both wear the same goddamn number.

''Dear Reporters,''

''Due to the magnitude of this week's game and high volume of questions for the Original 81 about the other 81. I will be taking all questions immediately following Sunday's game.''

''Sincerely,'' (followed by Owens' signature)

''p.s. Getcha Popcorn Ready.''

Yep, it seems Terrell Owens is hyping up everybody for the matchup between the ''original 81,'' referring to himself of course, and the ''other 81,'' referring to Randy Moss. This should be a good one considering both guys are just oozing with controversy the past few years. Oh yeah, this could also be a game where the media won't even be talking about a SINGLE thing about Tom Brady too.

Oh yeah, they are the league's premiere receivers too.

Who'll win? Well, you might as well just flip a goddamn coin for that. But if you've been watching last week's games, then maybe you'll bet your cash on the Patriots just because these Cowboys ALMOST got blindsided by the goddamn Bills when Tony Romo looked like Chicago's Sexy Rexy last Monday. Hee hee...

Allan Houston returns to the New York Knicks

seth-edward-oneal.jpgIf you've been watching a lot of space shuttle movies lately, surely, you've been hearing a lot of ''Houston, we have a problem.''

And while that has really NOTHING to do with this article whatsoever, it'll probably set you up for the inevitable. Ladies and gentlemen, after two years out of basketball, Allan Houston returns to the New York Knicks. And in this case, Houston will DEFINITELY be the one to have a problem.

Aside from the fact that the New York Knicks are coming off yet another miserable year coming to the new 2007-08 NBA basketball season, these guys are STILL just LOADED with shooting guards. That means no matter who they get, if he's a guard, he'll just be scrambling for playing time or see his career go down the drain.

Classic example of course is Steve Francis. That's why the guy's back with the Houston Rockets.

Despite the ''guard traffic jam'' they have in New York, not to mention the salary cap struggle, Allan Houston decided to come out of retirement, make a return with the New York Knicks and probably don his familiar No.20 jersey again.

Why in the heck did Houston return to the Knicks? Houston claims, ''I believe I can still have an impact on the game.'' He he...

Is this guy serious? The only impact he'll have is just jam New York's guard depth chart. Hell, they already have Quentin Richardson and Jared Jeffries, all playing out of position as forwards because the Knicks just have too many guards already.

Add Allan Houston, a prototypical shooting guard back in the day, to that equation and Knicks coach Isiah Thomas will have a headache even worse than the the one he's having dealing with Anucha Browne Sanders. And in case you don't know her, why don't you just ask her how Thomas harassed her in NYC.

Let's hope that this entire thing works out for New York. After all, with the New York Yankees now out of the 2007 MLB playoffs, Allan Houston and the rest of the Knicks are the only thing going for the city now. Oh yeah, let's hope Houston doesn't end up regretting coming out of retirement for these sick fucks from New York too.

Seahawks Fullback Mack Strong retires this NFL Season

Yep, after all those years playing pro football, Mack Strong's back finally gave in, prompting the Seahawks fullback to retire.

After all the shit Jerome Bettis and then, Tiki Barber, gave us the last couple of seasons, announcing their retirement just before the goddamn season started, Seahawks fullback Mack Strong, in a straightforward fashion, retired this 2007-08 NFL football season, refusing to give the kind of shit Bettis and Barber pulled on football fans.

''I've played a long time, 15 years. I felt like I was pretty lucky, pretty blessed,'' the Seattle Seahawks fullback said. Isn't it ironic that Seahawks back Mack Strong doesn't have a strong back after all? Hee hee...

Sorry... Anyway...

Mack Strong learned that a herniated disk in his neck is pinching his spinal cord. His doctors say that it will heal in time without any need for surgery, provided he doesn't play even a single game in the NFL again, ever.

''I'm a fullback. That kind of goes with the territory, you are always going to have some kind of pain or injury that you have to push through,'' Mack Strong said. ''[But] at the same time, I want to be smart. I don't want to do anything that would jeopardize my long-term quality of health.''

''You know, there's a lot more to life than football. I've got my wife and two kids,'' Strong said before pausing 10 seconds with his head bowed to control his emotions, (and to think he's a STRONG... er... never mind...) ''and there's nothing more important then being able to spend time with them.''

''I just felt very fortunate to get off the field,'' Strong said. ''I'm just grateful that I got the opportunity to make that choice.''

Looks like McLaren rookie driver Lewis Hamilton just created another rival in the 2007 F1 season

''F1's Golden Boy.'' He he... Nice.

That's how Mark Webber is describing Lewis Hamilton now since their ''accident'' that saw Webber retire in Japan this 2007 F1 season. Yep, the young British driver sure has a way of pissing people off eh?

Red Bull driver Mark Webber criticized Lewis Hamilton for the way he ''controlled'' the 2007 Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji. Webber felt that Hamilton intentionally slowed down dramatically behind the safety car while the rain continued to pour down, decreasing the drivers' visibility of what's in front of them.

As expected, Mark Webber had more than a few words to say about Hamilton during the 2007 Chinese Grand Prix, singlehandedly enraging Hamilton's legion of fans in Britain.

''I got pretty much slaughtered by the British gutter press about what I said on Thursday in China in the FIA press conference, but I guess that's what happens when you say something negative about the golden boy,'' Mark Webber wrote in his website.

''The fact of the matter is that I said what I said because I thought he didn't do a great job behind the safety car,'' Webber continued.

''He could have done much better, in fact. And, to Lewis' credit, he came out and said exactly the same; first to me and then in public. It's easy to be wise after the event, and what he's said doesn't put me back in the race, but that's the way it goes sometimes. It's just disappointing that it was my race that was ended because of it.''

''It doesn't bother me what the press said about me, whining Webber and all that. Cowboys don't cry, I say, and I have some pretty thick skin. It's old news now, and those newspapers are already wrapping chips, so what difference does it really make?''

Sounds to me that Mark Webber will be out to ruin Hamilton's championship in Brazil for the final race of the 2007 F1 season.

2007-08 NFL Football Week 6 Betting Picks

Alright, we'll try to look at the rest of the games this week and stop salivating over the Patriots - Cowboys game this Sunday.

Yes, it's Week 6 of the 2007-08 NFL football season as three unbeaten... DAMMIT... The New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys will be facing-off people! Tom Brady VS Tony Romo! Randy Moss VS Terrell Owens! Laurence Maroney VS Marion Barber! Ben Watson VS Jason Witten! (Okay... Maybe that last one will be a little lopsided. And NO, Jason won't get the better of Ben, EVER.

Yes, the New England Patriots visit the Dallas Cowboys at Texas Stadium as two 5-0 teams face-off, each trying to remain as one of the teams in the NFL yet to taste defeat. Of course, one has to lose and see that perfect record tarnished with a loss. And if I was a betting man, it'll probably be them Cowboys losing.

Why? How? Well for one, Tony Romo, as hot as he is right now, ain't a Tom Brady yet. We all saw that when he threw FOUR interceptions to the Buffalo Bills last Monday night that almost cost them the goddamn game. And don't get me started with last year's botched field goal attempt in the playoffs.

Tony Romo is good, yes, but in big time games like this one they'll be having on Sunday, the guy simply chokes. Hell, he's probably thinking about them Pats already when they had the Bills, that's why he almost cost his team the game with four INTs. Jeez...

Besides, Randy Moss is having a better season so far than Dallas' wideout Terrell Owens. Moss already has SEVEN TDs to Owens' trio. Expect the New England Patriots to win -6.5 over the Dallas Cowboys to remain unbeaten. What a game this is shaping up to be.

On Sunday Night Football, the struggling New Orleans Saints (still waiting to win a single goddamn game...) will visit the Seattle Seahawks at Qwest Field to get their asses handed to them for the fifth straight week.

I've already given up on New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush. With all the hype surrounding the guy before this season kicked off, he has only scored two TDs so far with a dismal 36.8 rushing yards per game. Ugh.

Expect the Seattle Seahawks to win -6.5 and hand the New Orleans Saints yet another loss that they'll just be begging for another hurricane just to have the magic they had last season back.

Finally, Monday Night Football concludes Week 6 with the New York Giants and the Atlanta Falcons in a game where Plaxico Burress should have a field day dropping them TDs.

The Atlanta Falcons don't have anyone at quarterback. And in case you didn't get that, I don't consider Joey Harrington as one. Sure, Eli Manning ain't any good either but hey, as long as I see Joey behind center, trying to form some kind of weird offensive scheme for the Falcons, I'll take Eli.

Expect the New York Giants to ACCIDENTALLY win -3.5 over the pathetic Atlanta Falcons.

As always, here's the rest of them games for Week 6.

Cincinnati Bengals -2.5 over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Houston Texans -3.5 over the Jacksonville Jaguars

Cleveland Browns (yes, Cleveland...) -1.5 over the Miami Dolphins.

Chicago Bears -6.5 over the Minnesota Vikings.

Philadelphia Eagles -2.5 over the New York Jets.

Baltimore Ravens -13.5 over the St. Louis Rams.

Tennessee Titans -6.5 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Green Bay Packers -6.5 over the Washington Redskins. (Because these guys won't let what happened against Chicago happen to them two weeks in a row...)

Carolina Panthers -1.5 over the Arizona Cardinals.

San Diego Chargers -6.5 over the Oakland Raiders. (Unless Daunte Culpepper shocks the world again...)

Can the Arizona Wildcats kick USC Trojans Booty Saturday?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgIt's a longshot but if these Wildcats want to earn an upset win over powerhouse USC, this Saturday is the best time.

The 2007-08 NCAA college football season couldn't be any more exciting, especially with the number of upsets we've witnessed the last couple of weeks. As of press time, powerhouse USC is sitting 10th in the rankings and on Saturday, they could be going down the proverbial ladder even further.

Why? Well, USC Trojans quarterback John David Booty could miss this Saturday's game after breaking his middle finger on his throwing hand in a shocking 24-23 loss to the Stanford Cardinal at home.

Oh yes, the USC Trojans lost to Stanford, ending their incredible 35-game home winning streak in a season that can perhaps be dubbed as the ''year of the upset.'' Stanford's win over USC last Saturday could very well be the upset of the season. After all, Stanford was a 41-point underdog coming to that game.

The Trojans will be facing a team they should have no business losing to for the second straight week. The 2-4 Arizona Wildcats are coming off a 31-16 loss to the Oregon State Beavers but with the Trojans' star quarterback hurting, another upset could be in the making.

John David Booty has a broken finger in his throwing hand. That means the guy won't be at a 100 percent doing what he does on Saturday and that's throwing a football. For what it's worth, the Trojans are hoping their star QB will be available on Saturday and Booty sure hopes so too.

''I sure hope so. That's my mind-set right now,'' John David Booty said, injured in the second quarter of USC's shocking 24-23 loss to Stanford last weekend. ''There's not really much you can do for it, ice it down. That's what I'm going to do.''

''The big thing is to get the swelling down.''

... And of course, hope they'll be able to beat the Wildcats and end what has been a rather humiliating week for the entire USC nation. He he...
