How far can Martina Hingis go at Wimbledon 2007?

Martina Hingis is trying to make a comeback and a strong finish at Wimbledon will give her that push back on top.

Yep, Martina Hingis is getting somewhat desperate to make that return back on top of the women's division in tennis. She enters the 2007 Wimbledon Championships coming off a long layoff from the game for more than a month. She also entered this year's Wimbledon battles in London despite her doctors telling her she was only 70 percent match fit.

Of course, what do these doctors know for crying out loud? This is Wimbledon baby, the grandest and biggest tournament in tennis and Martina Hingis, being the competitor that she is, will be damned if she misses this one. Hell, it doesn't even matter if she'll get her sweet Swiss ass creamed (which is a certainty...) as long as she gets to play here.

Martina Hingis knows it will be one looong climb back on top. And yes, she knows too that she is no longer one of the favorites to win the 2007 Wimbledon Championships considering the talented new blood we have in women's tennis these days. The likes of Ana Ivanovic and of course, the hot and sexy Maria Sharapova.

''I don't see myself right now as a contender. But I'm happy to be able to run and walk and play tennis again. I wasn't able to do that five weeks ago. You know, sometimes simple things make you really happy.''

''Sometimes you realize, you know, that not everything is about winning Grand Slam titles, what it does to you at the end of the day. But I wish I definitely wasn't injured.''

Martina Hingis, 26, engaged to Czech pro Radek Stepanek, is hoping to start a comeback within a comeback at the 2007 Wimbledon Championships. She logged an amazingly trouble-free journey back to the top 10 last year, her first season on the WTA circuit since 2002, and began this campaign strongly, reaching a final at the Gold Coast Australian Open tuneup and winning in Tokyo.

Who will win the 2007 Wimbledon Championships? Bodog has the odds.

Can Lewis Hamilton win his third win in F1 on Sunday?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgIn what could be the last French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours for at least a couple of years, Hamilton tries to win a grand prix dominated by Ferrari.

Yep, the 2007 French Grand Prix is on this Sunday as the Formula One season resumes at Magny-Cours, a track heavily dominated by Ferrari and a course that hasn't really been that kind to F1's new king, Lewis Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton, currently leading the drivers championship in the 2007 F1 season with 58 points, knows that Magny-Cours is not really one of his favorite tracks in motor racing.

''The French round of the GP2 championship last year was not my best weekend,'' Lewis Hamilton admits. ''I had a coming together in the first race and therefore started race two in 19th. I did make my way up through the field to fifth to score some points, so it is possible to overtake here.''

While Lewis Hamilton was saying Magny-Cours is not really his best track, his McLaren - Mercedes counterpart and two-time defending F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso says Magny-Cours is the first of four circuits he claims as his favorite hunting grounds.

Of course, he's making yet another vow to win the grand prix. Something he failed miserably, two straight weekends now.

''I have always liked racing at this track, when you hear people talk about circuits that are technical, Magny-Cours is definitely one of them,'' Fernando Alonso said.

''It is important to have good speed in the slow corners as they tend to lead on to long straights. You have to have good mechanical set-up for the corners and the same with traction for the exits.''

''My favorite sections of the track are the two high-speed chicanes at the back of the circuit. We go through them at speeds of up to 200 kph, which is very fast for a chicane; very special to drive through and unique in Formula One.''

As for Ferrari... uh... never mind. They just SUCK this season and I reckon they'll see their dominance over Magny-Cours erased by a McLaren on Sunday.

Can Lewis Hamilton win the 2007 French Grand Prix on Sunday for his third win of his promising young career? Here are the odds from Bodog.

New stuff on Madden NFL 2008! Woo-hoo!

Obviously, we can't wait for the next NFL football season.

Yep, we're tired of soccer, tennis, all these stuff about Kobe and of course, baseball. So, as we count the days until the 2007-08 NFL football season kicks off, we can look forward to the next best thing, Madden NFL 2008.

As ya'll know by now, Vince Young of the Tennessee Titans will be gracing the cover of Madden NFL 2008, defiant to the dreaded ''Madden curse'' that seems to get every single player that is stupid enough to be on the cover of John Madden's little video game.

But hey, we're not here to write about the Madden curse, what we're here for is tell you these new weapons you'll see in this latest incarnation of the popular football franchise. Yep, Rex Grossman could've used these in last year's Super Bowl.

First, Madden 08 will have the SMART QB, and after winning Super Bowl XLI last season, Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts will be packing one of these for sure. The SMART QB can read the defense and reveal their playart. Of course, the defense can counter the SMART QB by calling a diverse range of plays.

We will also have two kinds of kickers in Madden 08. One is the ACCURATE KICKER who hardly misses while there's also the BIG FOOT KICKER who kicks and punts footballs farthest than anyone in the game.

You'll also be having BIG HITTERS on defense. A BIG HITTER increases the chances of a fumble, especially when you hit ball carriers with a BIG HITTER using the hit stick. How do you counter these BIG HITTERS? Simple. Just like in real football, you just cover the ball.

Adding to BIG HITTERS, the defense on Madden 08 will also be having BRICK WALL DEFENDERS. These guys are tackle machines and they consistently wrap up ball carriers. One way to counter a BRICK WALL DEFENDER is to go with an ELUSIVE BACK or a POWER BACK.

Last but not the least, my favorite one this year, is the POSSESSION RECEIVER. Madden finally gave wide receivers some edge in this immortal football franchise as wideouts with the POSSESSION RECEIVER ability drops the football RARELY and makes catches better than any other receiver in the game.

Unfortunately, BIG HITTERS can still make these POSSESSION RECEIVERS drop some footballs.

Boo!

Who will be the favorites to win Super Bowl XLII in Glendale, Arizona? Here are the odds from Bodog:

San Diego Chargers 6/1

New England Patriots 10/1

Chicago Bears 8/1

Indianapolis Colts 7/1

Is Manchester City doomed with former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra owning the club?

For all ya'll who don't know who Thaksin Shinawatra is, he was the ousted Prime Minister of Thailand who kept screwing his own people.

Yep, and after his stint with Thai politics, this crooked and corrupt Thai lander is now the majority owner of the Manchester City football club coming to the brand new 2007-08 English Premiership season. He he... Now THAT is the way to create some real international buzz.

Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra agreed to buy Manchester City football club for a whopping $162 million. (And all that probably came from the taxes he made the Thailanders pay in his government... NICE.)

''I am delighted that the board of Manchester City has recommended my bid for the club,'' Thaksin Shinawatra said in a joint statement with the club. ''We share a determination to take the club back to its rightful place at the highest level of competition in both the FA Premier League and European football.''

Now I've seen everything. I've seen sports athletes make that transition from sports to politics, even movie stars, but I think Thaksin is the first guy to come from politics to sports. He he...

On the same note, I heard Filipino celebrity Manny Pacquiao tried running for a congressional seat in Philippine politics and FAILED MISERABLY. (Good God, I can only imagine what this sick fuck will do if ever he got elected... Jeez... What, he'll throw a left hook to run the Philippines?)

Thai prosecutors filed corruption charges against Thaksin Shinawatra in the Supreme Court, in the first criminal charges ever filed against a former premier in Thailand.

Thaksin was toppled in a military coup last September and was named along with his wife Pojamarn in a case involving allegations of wrongdoing in a land deal.

Here are the odds from Bodog on who will win the 2007-08 English Premiere League title.

Please don't vote for LeBron James in 2007 ESPY Awards

On July 15, ESPN will announce their own ''best athlete awards'' on TV and whatever you do, please don't vote for LeBron James.

Obviously, I don't like the guy one bit. Sorry LeBron fans, if Dwyane Wade was nominated in the 2007 ESPY Awards, I'd pick on him but since the sick fuck is not nominated this year, I'd just screw with my second least favorite athlete of all time. Yep, it's LeBron.

LeBron James is one of the nominees for the ''best male athlete'' category in the 2007 ESPY Awards. He'll join the likes of golf icon Tiger Woods, tennis great Roger Federer, last season's NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson and Super Bowl XLI champion Peyton Manning.

My vote? It's gotta' be Peyton Manning. Heck, he had a whopping 4,397 passing yards in the concluded 2006-07 NFL football season. He had 31 touchdowns with only nine interceptions. And to top it off, he led the Indianapolis Colts to the Super Bowl XLI title and was named Super Bowl MVP.

Unlike LeBron James who was swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2007 NBA Finals. He he...

Speaking of the San Antonio Spurs, the 2007 NBA champions are nominated in the ''best team'' category. Both Florida Gators college basketball and college football teams are also nominated after virtually dominating college sports last season.

The defending World Series champs St. Louis Cardinals, NCAA women's basketball champions Tennessee Lady Volunteers and those Colts are also nominees for the ''best team'' award.

I'd still pick the Colts though.

Is Adrian Sutil the anti Lewis Hamilton in F1?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgAdrian who?

My sentiments exactly. But apparently, the Spyker team thinks so. He he... Obviously, these guys had waaay too much grass. Or they're just utterly stupid.

The Spyker team, despite all their troubles in the 2007 F1 season, believes that Adrian Sutil will be Lewis Hamilton's main competition. That is according to Spyker team boss Colin Kolles as he already looks forward to the future after the dismal performances his team has been having at the present.

Lewis Hamilton, who leads the F1 Drivers Championship from McLaren teammate Fernando Alonso by 10 points following his record-breaking start to the season, drove alongside Sutil for the ASM team in the Formula 3 Euroseries in 2005.

Adrian Sutil finished second then to his teammate that season, after Lewis Hamilton dominated by achieving a record-setting 15 race wins from 20 starts, compared to Sutil's two victories.

Adrian Sutil, who spent 2006 racing in Japan and won the domestic Formula 3 Championship before joining up with Spyker, then known as Midland, first joined up with Kolles in 2004, driving for Kolles Racing, Germany's most successful Formula 3 team.

Of course, that doesn't mean shit in Formula One. But then again, who can tell these morons from Spyker otherwise?

''Adrian was Lewis Hamilton's former team-mate in Formula 3 so they know each other's strengths and they know each other's weaknesses.''

''He is a promising young talent for us, but we have to be realistic with where we are at the moment in terms of the car. We are always working on improving the car and we need to provide him with a better car to compete against the best teams and drivers. Adrian is a big asset for the future.''

''I believe in the future Adrian will be a big rival on the track to Lewis Hamilton.''

Yeah. Right.

Thierry Henry dissed Arsenal after signing with Barcelona

After we heard Thierry Henry denied reports that he'll be leaving Arsenal to sign with Barcelona FC, Henry signed with Barcelona FC.

Nyuk nyuk nyuk... Yep, Thierry Henry left Arsenal and the English Premiership to play for Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga. Thierry Henry now joins Brazil football demi-god Ronaldinho as they go for next season's La Liga title.

Thierry Henry, wearing his new No.14 Barcelona FC jersey, already looked at home on the Nou Camp turf with about 30,000 fans giving the former Arsenal striker a hero's welcome.

Hell, the support Henry got from the Barca fans were even bigger than what Ronaldinho got four years ago when he made his Barca debut. Obviously, Henry sure was happy about it.

''It's great to be here playing at Barcelona,'' the former Arsenal captain, Thierry Henry, said in Catalan after he had greeted the ecstatic crowd and performed some ball-juggling tricks.

''I always said that if I ever leave Arsenal, it would be to play for Barcelona. It's no disrespect to anybody, it's my choice,'' Henry told reporters earlier. ''The way Barcelona plays, the fans, just being here and what I'm noticing now, it's outstanding.''

He he... Sure it is. And to think he was saying he would never leave Arsenal just a few weeks ago. He he... What a jackass.

''I'm always surprised when I see all you guys (the press) here and all the people in the stands waiting to see me,'' Thierry Henry said. ''What they say is true, Barcelona is more than just a club.''

Of course, Henry also heard that other thing they say about Barca. The one that says, ''Barcelona FC can pay you more money.''

That's why he's with Barca.

With their captain Thierry Henry gone to Barcelona, can Arsenal win the 2007-08 English Premiership title? Bodog has the odds.

Holy Crap! These morons wanna' turn video gaming into some kind of professional sports league...

And that's just one of the instances that says we NEED more stuff when there's not much sports going on other than baseball.

Apparently, with the scarcity of sports these days, (it's currently the offseason of the NFL and the NBA...) there are some people who eventually want to turn video gaming into a full-pledged professional sports league like NFL football. And they're actually serious about it. He he...

DirecTV, with the successful transition of poker to the media phenomenon it is today, believes that video gaming has the potential to experience the same media attention that poker has a few years back.

With that said, DirecTV launched its first professional video game league dubbed the Championship Gaming Series. And to make matters more interesting, it has a full season of international competitions just like poker has these days with the 2007 World Series of Poker.

''Poker tournaments had been on TV for decades but only became a huge television property a few years ago when they added the lipstick camera and commentators to talk viewers through the likely scenarios and tendencies of the players,'' said Andy Reif, Commissioner for Championship Gaming Series and former COO of the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour.

''We have made the same type of innovations here. What is exciting for us is that DirecTV has figured out how to make pro gaming entertaining for viewers, gamers and non-gamers, and we expect that pro gaming will experience at least the level of success attained by poker after its TV production innovations were discovered.''

Mind you, the Championship Gaming Series, dubbed the CGS, has teams, uniforms, team websites and basically every other attribute a professional sports team has.

''The CGS concept is unique to the industry because it involves league and team play with an on-going series of competitions as opposed to the scattered gaming events that are currently available today,'' said Reif.

''Professional gamers'' will compete on PC and Xbox 360 games like Tecmo's Dead or Alive 4, Microsoft's Project Gotham Racing 3, Electronic Arts' FIFA 07 (I kick ass with my Manchester United team...) and Valve's Counter-Strike.

Each CGS team will feature 10 players who are specialists in the official league games. Five of the players will be an integrated Counter-Strike unit and play against other teams' Counter-Strike squads five-on-five. The soccer title FIFA 07 will be played one-on-one. Each team will have a mixed-double team of two DOA4 players, one man and one woman, playing against other teams in one-on-one matches on Xbox 360. The racing game PGR3 will be represented by one player on each team.

Some Favorites to win the 2007 Wimbledon Championships

Yep, from June 25 to July 8, we'll see the best tennis players of the world compete in the most grandiose competition in the game, Wimbledon.

Oh yeah, we'll probably see the hot and sexy Maria Sharapova flashing us with her cute little panties too whenever that itsy bitsy little skirt of hers flies open. I just hope Maria Sharapova gets to the final this time after being eliminated in the semis at Roland Garros a few weeks ago.

Maria Sharapova will be seeded No.3 behind Serbian Jelena Jankovic. Of course, the No.1 seed belongs to now the three-time French Open champion, Justine Henin. Henin will come into the 2007 Wimbledon championships fresh from a hat-trick on clay and will be looking to extend her domination of women's tennis with a win at Wimbledon.

Amelie Mauresmo, last year's queen of Wimbledon, is seeded No.4 and will stop at nothing to stop what is now turning out to be the Justine Henin era. (If Henin was not so fuckin' ugly, this would be okay...)

As for the Williams sisters? Serena Williams, the two-time Wimbledon winner, will be the No.7 seed and her sister Venus Williams dropped to as low as No.24 after having probably every single injury there is to have this year.

As for the men's side of things, Roger Federer is Wimby's No.1 seed (surprise... surprise...) as he will try to bounce back from his disappointing loss at the 2007 French Open final to his rival and STILL king of clay, Rafael Nadal.

Rafael Nadal, obviously, is seeded No.2.

Andy Roddick, the same guy who became the ''most QUEENEST guy'' at the Stella Artois Championships at the Queen's club, is seeded No.3 for the 2007 Wimbledon championships. Has he gotten over his somewhat dismal performance a few weeks ago at Roland Garros after winning the Queen's club title last Sunday, a few days before Wimby?

I guess we'll find out on Monday.

So, Beckham got Madrid the La Liga Title, now what?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgDavid Beckham finally won his first major trophy for his pals from Real Madrid.

After Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes watched the final game David Beckham will ever play in a Real Madrid uniform where he won the 2007 Spanish La Liga title, Becks now begins his road to Hollywood where he will attempt to have the same circus he had with Madrid for his new team, the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Of course, we all know MLS soccer ain't shit compared to the major soccer leagues we have like the La Liga and the English Premiership. Of course, David Beckham has been through 'em all (Beckham played for Manchester United in the English Premiership for all ya'll who doesn't know...) and with the Englishman in the United States, getting MLS Soccer to the same level as these international football worlds will be a rather difficult task.

An impossible one at that. Besides, the Los Angeles Galaxy is a rather pathetic step coming from a powerhouse team like Real.

While David Beckham celebrated their Spanish La Liga conquest with Real Madrid, Los Angeles just ended a five-game winless run with a 3-2 victory over last place Real Salt Lake in the MLS Western Conference. That kinda' changes the perspective a bit huh?

The win at least puts the L.A. Galaxy three points ahead of a last-place Salt Lake side which hasn't won in 15 games. It was only the Galaxy's second victory of the season, however, and the team needs Beckham to arrive as soon as possible if it wants to make up any ground on the title chasing clubs.

Boy, do they need him BAD...

''We have a lot of work to do in certain areas,'' Los Angeles Galaxy head coach Frank Yallop said after the long overdue victory. ''I'm happy all around but now we need to regroup and get ready for our game next Saturday. It's nice to have a smile on my face for a change.''

Well, that smile could very well be wiped off his face again when David Beckham arrives in L.A. with yet another nagging ankle injury. Jeez... These guys can't catch a goddamn break.

Can David Beckham lead the Los Angeles Galaxy towards the MLS title? Bodog has the odds on every fixture. Bet now.

HORSE shit at 2007 World Series of Poker is on Sunday

No, they won't be swallowing horse shit from Curlin.

The HORSE tournament at the 2007 World Series of Poker is this Sunday and it will be the most expensive tournament to enter in the WSOP with a $50,000 price tag.

The HORSE event, with each letter in the acronym standing for the form of poker played in a rather dizzying rotation of games, is expected to draw the toughest professionals in poker and will last a grueling five days.

So why do these sick bastards enter the damn thing considering the steep buy-in and the nasty five-day marathon? Well, in poker, whoever wins the annual HORSE event is considered the best all-around player of the game. Of course, it has more than a few bundles of cash waiting for you too.

Because of the rather expensive entry fee, and of course the relative obscurity of some of the games involved like razz, the HORSE event figures to attract a relatively compact field.

From the uncontrollable chaos we like to call the World Series of Poker, last year's HORSE event provided a safe and sane refuge for poker aficionados. Tournaments with expensive buy ins and feature games other than Texas hold 'em have attracted manageable fields so far at the 2007 WSOP.

The final table of this year's HORSE event should be loaded again because experience in each of the games in the rotation counts for so much.

Last year's final table also included heavy hitters such as runner-up Andy Bloch (70-1 to win this year), Jim Bechtel (70-1), T.J. Cloutier (70-1), David Singer (60-1), Dewey Tomko (70-1) and Doyle Brunson (45-1).

The annual HORSE event will feature the following games; H for hold 'em, O for Omaha high-low split, R for razz, S for seven-card stud and E for 7-card stud high-low split eight or better.

Who will win the 2007 World Series of Poker? Bodog has the odds.

Joe Hachem 4/1

Chris Moneymaker 8/1

Doyle Brunson 5/1

Phil Helmuth 7/2

Is it time to bring the six-time F1 World Champion, Michael Schumacher, back in a Ferrari cockpit?

Apparently, Ferrari had just about enough of Kimi Raikkonen.

After an offseason full of promise when Kimi Raikkonen, McLaren - Mercedes' young rising star then, signed with the red scarlet Scuderia Ferrari, it has been nothing more but pathetic finishes or no finishes at all.

To say that Kimi Raikkonen failed miserably to carry the Ferrari brand after the Michael Schumacher era would be an understatement. Heck, his second string teammate Felipe Massa has done better than the young Finn has and Ferrari can only hope for this godforsaken 2007 F1 season to come to an end.

So is it time for them to bring Michael Schumacher back inside a cockpit of a Ferrari? Apparently, there are rumors that say that exactly, that Schumi might make a comeback with the prancing horse. Schumi's manager however, says otherwise.

Michael Schumacher's manager Willi Weber and spokeswoman Sabine Kehm have both strenuously denied rumors that the seven-time F1 World Champion, Michael Schumacher could be set to make a return to a Ferrari cockpit in the future.

Yeah, sure, Schumacher is going to race again later this December as he prepares for the 'Race of Champions' at Wembley Stadium. But according to Schumi's people, he is certainly not planning to return to the somewhat beleaguered Ferrari team.

Ouch.

''That is absolute rubbish,'' manager Willi Weber said. ''I know Ferrari, and with the resources they have, already in the next race everything could be completely different. McLaren should not celebrate just yet.''

Schumacher's spokeswoman Sabine Kehm added, ''There's absolutely nothing in it. Michael has absolutely no intention of returning to the cockpit. Michael has definitely not driven this car. He is completely contented with his life at present. He has never regretted his decision to retire and nothing has changed in that.''

Guys, just go offer the German more money.

Drama between Hamilton and Alonso in F1

Are they buddies? Or do they just want to see the other fail like a miserable moron?

For now, they are saying they are ''buddies.'' For one, McLaren - Mercedes rookie driver Lewis Hamilton claims his relationship with his two-time F1 World Champion teammate, Fernando Alonso, is becoming ''closer and closer.'' Whatever the hell that means.

In Indianapolis, the same track where Lewis Hamilton established his mark in North America for the second consecutive weekend, the two McLaren - Mercedes machines were at peace. They appear so anyway.

When Lewis Hamilton won his second career win in Formula One at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, after denying Fernando Alonso EVERY SINGLE opportunity to get in front, the defending F1 World Champion was surprisingly graceful in defeat. SURPRISINGLY because if you've been following Formula One for quite some time now, then you already know what a sore loser our little Spanish champion is.

Well, whether the guy was sincere or not, Lewis Hamilton believes Alonso handled the loss pretty well. Of course, what does Hamilton care anyway? He won the goddamn race didn't he?

''Fernando is extremely fair, especially at the start of the race and done a fantastic job, so well done to him,'' Lewis Hamilton said.

''As you can see, we're extremely close. But we're very, very close on the track and I think we are getting closer and closer off track, you know. And our respect for each other I think is growing and it's great.''

''We're really happy for the team. But once again, I'm just proud and honored to be sitting next to him as I've always looked up to him for the last few years.''

Obviously, Lewis Hamilton was not paying attention when Fernando Alonso claimed the team favors the rookie sensation more than him. He made the comments after the 2007 United States Grand Prix, showing clearly how sincere he was in accepting the loss at Indy GRACEFULLY.

Can Lewis Hamilton remain on top of the F1 food chain? Who will win the F1 drivers championship? Bodog has the odds.

Las Vegas looking to get in the MLS soccer craze?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgIf there's really one anyway.

With Spanish La Liga and English Premiership stars like David Beckham joining the MLS soccer league in the United States, the thought of having one MLS team in Las Vegas are just driving some Vegas locals crazy.

A thread in one major soccer website entitled, ''Las Vegas MLS plan ($35 Million on the Table)'' became one of the most popular threads in the said soccer website. It drew 386 posts and attracted around 16,000 views, all probably coming from people living in Las Vegas.

''The city is twice the size of Salt Lake City, and it's expected to pass Denver by 2010,'' writes monster (obviously NOT his real name...) from Hanover, Pa. ''That's not counting tourists. It's not a slam dunk, but it's not dire, either.''

Apparently, Las Vegas locals have been longing for one MLS soccer team in their hometown that they already have nicknames for the new club. Some of the nicknames being tossed around include FC Vegas, Red Devils, Las Vegas Aces (ewww...) and my personal favorite, Sin City FC.

Others even have designs for the Las Vegas soccer team's uniform. Of course, there were also some silly stuff posted on the thread.

''I just hope they serve cheap, giant margaritas at the Silver Spurs Dome,'' scott47a writes from somewhere on the West Coast. Nebraska Addick envisions a section of Elvis impersonators who yell ''Viva!'' at every good play by the home team. (That's rather pathetic...)

Apparently, Las Vegas people want MLS Commissioner Don Garber to publicly acknowledge the Las Vegas Sports Entertainment Group, monster on the other hand thought otherwise.

''It's not (Garber's) call,'' monster writes. ''It's the owners' call. But that fact escapes many people on (the thread) with great regularity.''

Kevin Garnett doesn't want to play for the Boston Celtics

These days, are there still people who want to play for the Celtics anyway?

The Boston Celtics are pathetic. And we proved that when they lost the overall No.1 pick to the Portland Trailblazers in the NBA Draft lottery. That's after they probably started losing games on purpose to get the best chance to land either Greg Oden or Kevin Durant in the 2007 NBA Draft on Thursday.

Apparently, Kevin Garnett knew how sick he's going to get once he dons a green Boston Celtics uniform. And judging by the way KG simply turned down what would be the biggest trade of this year's offseason, KG won't be a fan of these guys anytime soon.

Hmm... I wonder what his good friend and Boston Celtics superstar Paul Pierce feels about the Big Ticket now?

''The Boston trade isn't happening,'' Kevin Garnett's agent, Andy Miller, told ESPN reporter Chris Sheridan. ''If a trade were to happen, that's not a destination that we're interested in pursuing.''

The Boston Celtics - Minnesota Timberwolves trade would've sent Kevin Garnett and Troy Hudson to the Boston Celtics for up and coming Celtics star Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff and Sebastian Telfair. The Wolves will also have Wally Szczerbiak return to Minnesota, as well as a No.5 overall pick in next Thursday's 2007 NBA Draft.

''This would be a major trade that would affect a franchise and those in the organization, so you better be sure [he wants to be there long term],'' said Miller. Miller, KG's agent, informed both the Wolves and the Celtics that there's no chance in hell Garnett would play for a pathetic team like the Celtics.

So where exactly does Kevin Garnett actually wants to play?

Apparently, KG would like to play for the Phoenix Suns after becoming good friends with Phoenix Suns superstar Steve Nash. Garnett and Nash became good friends when KG congratulated the Canadian on his first MVP trophy. And judging by the way Shawn Marion is currently having some problems with the Suns organization, a deal involving both KG and ''the Matrix'' was definitely possible.

If it wasn't for Marion saying he doesn't want to play for Minnesota... OR Boston.

Don't call it the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup championship, they want to start calling it SPRINT by 2008

Yep, the premiere racing series of NASCAR will now be called the NASCAR Sprint Series beginning the 2008 season.

Well, that's what they're saying anyway and yep, NASCAR hasn't made any official comments yet on the said name change at this point of the 2007 NASCAR season. Then again, who cares anyway?

Call it Nextel, call it Sprint, watching a hundred cars go around in circles for about gazillion times still is a waste of valuable TV time. (Unless of course, you're a redneck...)

Sprint's NASCAR marketing director, Dean Kessel, claims that Sprint and Nextel is still sorting out the proposition with NASCAR officials. He also said that multiple outstanding details must be finalized internally before a decision can be made either way.

If the Nextel Cup do gets renamed to the Sprint Cup, it would be the third time NASCAR's premiere racing extravaganza gets a name change since 2003.

R.J. Reynolds tobacco, through its Winston cigarette brand, sponsored NASCAR's premiere series from 1972-2003. In 2004, it was renamed to the Nextel Cup when Nextel assumed the naming rights to the most popular racing series in the U.S. (As far as those jobless rednecks are concerned...)

Sprint and Nextel agreed to a $36 billion merger back in December of 2004 and they probably got the idea to have the name change then.

Jeff Gordon is leading the 2007 NEXTEL Cup series with 2392 championship points. Denny Hamlin, Gordie's closest competitor, is 264 points behind with 2128. Besides the NEXTEL Cup, NASCAR has the Busch Series and the Craftsman Truck series.

Who will bag this year's Nextel Cup? Bodog has the odds on who will win the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series.

Jeff Gordon 8/1

Juan Pablo Montoya 50/1

Greg Biffle 10/1

Jimmie Johnson 5/1

Can Real Madrid win the Spanish La Liga on Sunday?

As far as Real Madrid is concerned, a win against Real Mallorca on Sunday will guarantee them the Spanish La Liga title.

Yep, the battle for the 2007 Spanish La Liga championship has come down to this huge fixture between Real Madrid and Real Mallorca on Sunday. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are tied atop the Spanish La Liga standings with 73 points each and if Madrid beats Mallorca, they'll win the title no matter what Barcelona does.

In La Liga, a team is awarded three points after every win. If Real Madrid can beat the visiting Real Mallorca team on Sunday, that will guarantee them the 2007 Spanish La Liga title with 76 points in the championship standings. And it won't matter what FC Barcelona does when they visit Gimnastic Tarragona on the very same day.

Yeah sure, a Barcelona win over Gimnastic Tarragona will ALSO earn Barca three more points to score 76 in the season but with Real Madrid holding the advantage in their head-to-head results, Barca will just lose to Madrid if their season ended in a tie for the title. Too bad eh?

Of course, if Real Madrid loses and Barcelona wins, THAT is an entirely different story. Although I won't be counting on that to happen.

And to make matters worse for FC Barcelona, Brazil forward Robinho, the same guy who was rumored to be joining the Brazil national team for the 2007 Copa America tournament, will play for Real Madrid on Sunday to clinch their 30th league title.

Though clubs are required to release their players 14 days before the start of a major tournament, Madrid will not have to after the Spanish football federation received word from soccer's world governing body allowing Robinho to play against Mallorca on Sunday.

As for David Beckham, yeah, it's a possibility he'll be playing too. Becks was hurt in England's 3-0 win over Estonia in qualifying for the 2008 European Championship last week, but played in Madrid's 2-2 draw at Zaragoza in the Spanish league last Saturday.

You can bet your ass he'll be suiting up for Real Madrid in probably his last game for the Spanish side before he transfers to the Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer.

Can David Beckham win his first major trophy for Real Madrid? Bodog has the odds on this huge La Liga fixture this Sunday.

Can these golfers win the 2007 U.S. Open of PGA Tour?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgApparently, as good as these guys are, Justin Timberlake still has the best chance to win a major over these morons.

Yep, the best golfers in the world is on display at the 2007 U.S. Open and with golf's latest war on green already upon us, can some of the game's best golfers without a major finally win their first at Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh?

Let's start with Adam Scott. This guy already has Tiger's old instructor, Butch Harmon. And although Mr. Harmon won't be turning Scott into the next Tiger Woods anytime soon, Harmon can definitely teach him enough to give him his first major at Oakmont.

Adam Scott proved he can beat the very best with his win at the Players and Tour Championship. Despite that, his major wins still stand at a resounding ZERO. Of course, you can bet you're ass he's already annoyed by it.

''If every other 26-year-old was out here winning majors, I'd be annoyed,'' Adam Scott says, ''but that's not the case. It's something that I would like to have happen sooner rather than later, but I think you've got to be a little patient, too.''

And speaking of patience, Irishman Padraig Harrington definitely had a lot of those. The 35-year-old Irish golfer has already earned 14 titles around the world including two in the PGA Tour when he won the Honda Classic and the Barclays Classic back in 2005. Harrington also had more than 20 runner-up finishes since he turned pro in 1995.

So why the hell can't this guy win his first major?

Harrington believes it's only a matter of time before that happens and yep, he will remain PATIENT as ever before.

There's also a Rory Sabbatini who is yet to win one major. He is probably the epitome of inconsistency among the golfers in the 2007 U.S. Open. He had no top 25 finishes in the 21 majors he had been in before getting to a T-2 at the Masters. Go figure.

Who will win the 2007 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club? Bodog has the odds.

Tiger Woods 14/5

Phil Mickelson 8/1

Ernie Els 20/1

Vijay Singh 16/1

F1 visits Indianapolis for 2007 United States Grand Prix

Following the somewhat chaotic F1 battle in Montreal, F1 racing resumes this Sunday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

And guess what, we finally have one sole owner of the F1 drivers championship lead. McLaren - Mercedes rookie driver Lewis Hamilton got his very first grand prix win in Canada last week and will now head to the 2007 United States Grand Prix as the top driver in Formula One.

Lewis Hamilton has been the one making the headlines in the McLaren - Mercedes camp following the consistent finishes the rookie has been making at this point of the 2007 F1 season.

Of course, two-time defending F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso, the one who was suppose to be the man in McLaren - Mercedes making all those headlines, doesn't like this Lewis Hamilton era one bit. And he doesn't like his team's sudden fondness of his rookie teammate either.

After we saw McLaren - Mercedes boss Ron Dennis order Lewis Hamilton to back off and let Fernando Alonso take the win in Monaco, the irritated Spanish champion is now saying that the McLaren - Mercedes team favors his rookie teammate more and that he has been uncomfortable at the team since he joined.

Talk about one ungrateful sonuvabitch.

Fernando Alonso, with the sudden emergence of the young Lewis Hamilton, has been under pressure to outperform his McLaren - Mercedes teammate. Especially with Lewis Hamilton being a mere rookie.

We're only six races into the 2007 F1 season and with the way Lewis Hamilton has been driving as of late, the pressure on Fernando Alonso will unfortunately get greater and greater.

Lewis Hamilton leads the 2007 drivers championship standings with 48 points while Fernando Alonso is in second place with 40. Not far behind are the two Ferrari drivers with Felipe Massa scoring 33 points in third and Kimi Raikkonen in fourth with 27 championship points.

Can Lewis Hamilton win the 2007 United States Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday? AcesAce Sportsbook has the odds.

NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. joins Jeff Gordon at Hendrick Motorsports... Who'll beat them now?

Beginning 2008, Hendrick Motorsports will probably be running over EVERYBODY on a NASCAR racetrack.

As ya'll know by now, Earnhardt Jr. will be leaving DEI Racing at the end of the 2007 NASCAR season after his stepmother expressed her desire to have sole control of the family car.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. had three options on where he will end up at the end of the NASCAR year. Hendrick Motorsports, Richard Childress Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing were all potential destinations for the guy and it looks like he has finally made his choice.

Earnhardt will be joining NASCAR stars Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Casey Mears in the already powerful Hendrick Motorsports stable, forming probably the most dominant team in NASCAR beginning in 2008. Terms of the deal were not revealed but team owner Rick Hendrick has already said that Earnhardt will not be the highest paid driver in his ridiculously powerful side.

The Hendrick Motorsports owner also said he's not going to force Earnhardt to change his image, even though Earnhardt jokingly said he'd been told to lose his trademark blue jeans and t-shirts.

''I'm flattered he said something,'' Rick Hendrick said. ''The rest of them don't even ask me. They just do it. It's important for Dale to be Dale. His image is his image. I don't want to change that at all.''

Hendrick Motorsports is also planning to have Dale Earnhardt Jr. keep his No.8 and drive a red NASCAR machine with a big Budweiser logo. Of course, DEI Racing has to release Earnhardt's No.8 to Hendrick first, not to mention Hendrick Motorsports' sponsorship commitments with Carquest, Kellog's, National Guard and GMAC they still have to fulfill.

Nevertheless, the addition of Dale Earnhardt Jr. to a team that already has Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson will definitely be one ridiculously talented crop of NASCAR drivers ready to run over the rest of the pack like roadkill.

Can Dale Earnhardt Jr. win the NASCAR championship? Who will bag this year’s Nextel Cup? Bodog has the odds on who will win the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series.

Jennifer Tilly is hot for women at the 2007 WSOP

Jennifer Tilly has big ass tits.

Now that THAT is out of the way, yeah, Jennifer Tilly is rooting for all the women at the 2007 World Series of Poker. The bride of Chucky (although Jen Tilly is not really a bride of a scary doll...) can't seem to stop talking about women. Heck, we're beginning to think she's into this whole lesbian thing or something...

Jennifer Tilly, the Academy Award nominee, not to mention the 2005 World Series of Poker ladies' champion, has a theatrical take on the subject of women in poker. And yeah, people listen to her. She is after all, a poker tournament champion.

''You know how you hardly ever see women serial killers?'' Jennifer Tilly said. ''But when you do see one, she really stands out because of her viciousness.''

''It's kind of the same in poker. The women who are successful playing in tournaments against the men are so competitive, so intense, so strong, it's kind of amazing how good some of the best female poker players are.''

As the 2007 World Series of Poker at the Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada heats up, Jennifer Tilly will be a part of the 2007 version of the Queen of Hearts team together with a dozen female poker professionals, celebs and executives who will donate their winnings in any 2007 WSOP tournament to the American Heart Association's ''Go Red for Women'' campaign and the Nevada Cancer Institute.

Jennifer Tilly, who placed 15th in the World Poker Tour Borgata Open last fall, said charitable pursuits such as the Queen of Hearts team allow poker players to show they have a social conscience.

''Sometimes I think poker players might feel guilty for not giving back enough,'' Jennifer Tilly said at a reception for the Queen of Hearts team at Caesars Palace.

''This project brings awareness to a serious cause, raises money, and it brings people together. Poker is a very solitary game, so it's nice having other people on the same team, somebody to root for.''

Who will win the 2007 World Series of Poker? Bodog has the odds.

Joe Hachem 4/1

Chris Moneymaker 8/1

Doyle Brunson 5/1

Phil Helmuth 7/2

Chris Ferguson 5/1

Alonso thinks Hamilton's win in Canada was luck

seth-edward-oneal.jpgAnd to think he's Lewis Hamilton's McLaren teammate eh?

After the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix paved way for the new Lewis Hamilton era in Formula One, two-time defending F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso thinks his teammate's win was lucky.

The F1 race in Montreal, Canada was one chaotic weekend indeed. A number of F1 drivers banged their cars to the wall, leading to the appearance of the safety car a number of times during the race.

Heck, the appearance of the safety car last Sunday was already MORE than the number of times we saw it at this point of the 2007 F1 season. For what it's worth, Lewis Hamilton fans think the deployment of the safety car in Montreal ALMOST robbed Hamilton of his first career win in F1.

His jealous McLaren - Mercedes teammate, Fernando Alonso, thinks otherwise.

''Very good but very lucky,'' Fernando Alonso said after the race in Canada. ''It was a strange race with the safety car being deployed so many times which worked to Lewis' advantage today and my disadvantage.''

After being given a stop-go penalty for pitting during the first deployment of the safety car, (the safety car got out FOUR TIMES last Sunday...) the Spaniard finished a lowly seventh at the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix and reacted somewhat irritated when asked to comment on his McLaren teammate's victory.

While the two-time defending F1 World Champion, Fernando Alonso was indeed unfortunate to be penalized given that his ''only other option was to stop on track with no fuel,'' his assessment of the race is somewhat myopic to say the least.

The young Lewis Hamilton already possessed a sizeable lead over the double World Champion after Alonso's botched attempt to overtake the youngster around the first corner, an error that the Spaniard repeated throughout the race. Moreover, each appearance of the safety car meant that Hamilton had to re-establish his lead and offered his rivals an unearned route back into the race.

I don't know what the fuck this stupid Spaniard is talking about.

''It seemed like every time I opened up a bit of a gap the safety car came out and I had to start all over again,'' Alonso said. ''Each time the tires and brakes get cold. It is so easy to put it into the wall in those situations. But I held it together until the end.''

Can Fernando Alonso win the 2007 U.S. Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on June 17? Bodog has the odds.

Will Thierry Henry leave the Premiership for Barcelona?

If only Barcelona had these rumors before the 2007 La Liga season began.

The 2007 Spanish La Liga season is about to end and this Sunday's fixtures WILL determine who will be the La Liga champions this year. Real Madrid are the favorites to do just that with Barcelona needing to win their match with Gimnastic Tarragona together with Madrid losing to Real Mallorca this Sunday to snatch the title away from Real.

Of course, if they had a player like Thierry Henry at the beginning of the season, they won't be needing any scenarios like these just to win the title. It'll be simply handed to them in a silver platter.

Rumors are circulating that Thierry Henry will be leaving Arsenal and the English Premiership to play in the Spanish La Liga for Barcelona. Henry did deny such rumors but that didn't stop Barca stars like Ronaldinho to look forward to playing alongside the French phenom.

''Any player in the world would like to play with him,'' Ronaldinho said, referring to Thierry Henry.

''He is a great player and I think he would adapt really well to the Primera Liga and our team's style of play. I personally love to watch him play, he has a lot of speed and he is a player that I have always liked.''

''We both like to play one-on-one and surge forward.'' (No... Ronaldinho didn't meant that in a homosexual kind of way...)

If FC Barcelona do sign Thierry Henry, they will have a forward line unparalleled in the world of international football with the former Juventus man linking up with Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Leo Messi.

But Ronaldinho is adamant Henry's arrival would not alter the atmosphere in the dressing room, adding, ''I don't believe there would be any problems.''

''Any player wants to play at Barca. For me it is a joy to play alongside quality players.''

Can Barcelona win their fixture on Sunday and win the La Liga title with a loss from Real Madrid? Bodog has the odds on these huge fixtures.

Game 1

Real Madrid -850

Real Mallorca +1100

Game 2

FC Barcelona -667

Gimnastic Tarragona +1000

The 2007 NBA season is over and it's time for these players to go find themselves new teams in trades

It's that time of the year when we basically don't have anything on TV other than baseball.

Yep, the NBA season just ended and we are still a few months away from football. And just because we really have nothing much to write about, we'll just do the latest trade between the Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves completed a trade that saw Houston letting go of one of Texas' favorite sons. The Rockets sent Juwan Howard to Minnesota in exchange for Mike James, the same guy who has been having his fair share of problems regarding playing time when the Wolves drafted Randy Foye.

Of course, Mike James was ecstatic about the trade, he will probably get major minutes again since his breakout season with the Toronto Raptors.

''Even Houston thinking about me is a blessing but until I see it on the ticker I won't believe it. I'm so excited,'' Mike James said prior to the trade's completion. ''It would give me that chance to retire in Houston.''

''Maybe this will be good for both sides,'' Mike James added. ''You know, it's tough. Change is always tough. But, for me, it's like going back home.''

Minnesota Timberwolves executive Kevin McHale believes letting Mike James go was the right thing to do. ''Mike did not have the type of year that Mike wanted to have,'' McHale said. ''And he didn't fill the role for us that we had hoped that he would fill as far as spreading the court and making those shots.''

Talk about bringing a guy down eh?

As for the other end of the deal, Juwan Howard will be playing alongside Kevin Garnett and if Howard can continue the solid performances he has been having in Houston, they will form one solid frontcourt combo in Minnesota. Of course, many people said that when Michael Olowakandi arrived.

What a waste of human life that was.

Amanda stroking our BEARD by posing nude for Playboy

For all ya'll who don't know who the heck is Amanda Beard, she is the former Olympic gold medalist from the Athens Games.

Yep, the 25-year-old swimmer, after winning her first individual gold medal in Athens, is literally showing off everything she has in the July issue of Playboy magazine. I guess you can say after we saw her show off her best strokes on water, we now have the opportunity to ''stroke'' it in front of Amanda Beard's perfect body.

The July edition of Playboy magazine features Amanda Beard, TOPLESS on the cover billed as ''the world's sexiest athlete nude.'' (And I thought the hot and sexy Maria Sharapova has that distinction...)

Amanda Beard takes off her clothes in EIGHT PHOTOS that will most definitely change her status from being a role model to young girls to... um... role model to young girls who like to pose nude for Playboy someday.

''This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I really felt excited and motivated to do it,'' Amanda Beard said while sipping coffee in the sunny backyard of her Venice home. ''I'm kind of used to people not necessarily agreeing with everything that I do and that's totally fine. This doesn't change my personality or who I am. It's just a business decision, a career decision.''

And we definitely hope more hot and sexy female athletes will make the same business decision as the lovely Amanda Beard did.

Amanda Beard is aiming to qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. It may be months before Beard competes in meets and gauge the reaction of her fellow swimmers to her Playboy magazine spread.

''It would only feel awkward if they make comments to me about it,'' Amanda Beard said. ''We'll see how that one goes.''

Well, for one, a lot of guys will definitely want to get inside her pants, that's for sure.
