Can Red Sox force Game 7 and beat the Indians Saturday?
Game 6 of the Boston - Cleveland series is this Saturday and just like last Thursday, Red Sox nation will be staring at elimination.
Yep, after having their backs against the wall, the Boston Red Sox pulled a 7-1 win over the Cleveland Indians in Game 5 to force a 6th game back in Boston this Saturday.
Thanks to ace pitcher Josh Beckett, the Cleveland Indians saw 11 of their bats striking out as the Boston Red Sox superstar only allowed a single run and five hits. Talk about dominance eh?
While Josh Beckett may have successfully masked Boston's flaws in Game 5, he wasn't able to make them all go away. And what's probably even worse is the fact that the Red Sox would have to go to another guy other than Beckett to force a Game 7 on Sunday.
Hell, for all we know, Game 6 of the 2007 American League Championship Series could be the last game the Boston Red Sox will ever play at Fenway Park. Curt Schilling will get the nod for the Red Sox against the Cleveland Indians in Game 6 but we all know how that turned out last time right?
The last time Curt Schilling pitched for the Boston Red Sox against them Cleveland sluggers, the Indians had a whopping 17 hits while scoring 13 runs back in Game 2 to tie the series and win what would be the first of three straight Cleveland victories.
Still, the Boston Red Sox feel optimistic coming into Game 6. Hell, we all saw them come back from huge deficits before in the playoffs right?
''I think we accomplished Part 1. We wanted to win this game and get it back to Boston. We have one more important game,'' Boston Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell said.
Boston better win this game on Saturday. They don't have a choice but to.
Who will win the 2007 MLB World Series Championship? Bodog has the odds.
