2007-08 NFL Football Week 5 Betting Picks
Week 5 baby and we still have a few teams looking to erase the shit the '72 Dolphins have in the NFL.
And in case you didn't get that, the 1972 Miami Dolphins are still the only team in pro football who finished a full year UNDEFEATED. In this 2007-08 NFL football season, the Patriots, the Packers, the Cowboys and the Colts are the only four teams that still have a chance of matching that feat.
Of course, they gotta' win in Week 5 first. And the last time NFL football was on, the Pittsburgh Steelers saw their ascend to the '72 Dolphins record come to a screeching halt when the Arizona Cardinals handed them their very first loss of the season. Hmm... I wonder which among these four undefeated teams will be dealt their first loss of the year?
First, the New England Patriots. These guys will be hosting a lowly Cleveland Browns team in probably one of the toughest games to win a football game, Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
The Browns are 2-2 this season. Sure, they were able to beat the powerhouse Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, but this time, they have the Patriots. And when you face a team who has two of the hottest guys in football right now, that being Tom Brady and Randy Moss, you don't have a chance.
Expect the New England Patriots to beat the Cleveland Browns down -13.5 to keep their pursuit of the '72 Dolphins alive.
Pats' rivals, Indianapolis Colts, will be going up against the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they too try to keep their undefeated streak going. The Bucs are currently lording over a weak NFC South division and are currently riding a three-game winning streak after losing their first game of the season.
However, beating the Indianapolis Colts, at the RCA Dome for crying out loud (as if facing the defending champs ain't enough...) is a rather impossible task indeed. Especially if you don't have all your weapons heading to a battle with Indianapolis. You see, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won't be having their star running back Cadillac Williams. Tampa Bay won't be having any wins whatsoever too.
Pick the Indianapolis Colts to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers -13.5 to remain undefeated.
The surprisingly still perfect Green Bay Packers will be hosting the struggling Chicago Bears in what would be an intense rivalry game at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football. The Bears, after winning the NFC championship last season, sit at the very bottom of the NFC North whereas the Packers sit on top of it. But if there's one game that ''might'' deal the Packers their first loss of the season, it could be this game. That is if the Bears offense finally wakes the fuck up.
Otherwise, if we see a ''normal'' Chicago Bears game, where their quarterback fumbles one, two, three footballs all in the same goddamn drive, Packers will win and remain undefeated.
Pick the Green Bay Packers -6.5 to beat the Chicago Bears.
Last but certainly not the least, Monday Night Football will feature the red-hot Dallas Cowboys, taking on the struggling Buffalo Bills. He he... You don't need me to tell you the Cowboys will simply run over these Bills.
Buffalo Bills QB J.P. Losman is still out, which means rookie quarterback Trent Edwards will get the nod against one of the best defenses in the NFL these days. This one won't be pretty folks.
Pick the Dallas Cowboys to pound the Buffalo Bills -13.5 folks.
