Suns forward Shawn Marion to join the Lakers?

That's good for the Lakers organization. Bad for Kobe Bryant fantasy owners.

Well, we just know Kobe will just hog the ball anyway so I guess that's that. And in case you're wondering, YEAH, Shawn Marion is thinking about leaving the Phoenix Suns to join Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers heading to the brand new 2007-08 NBA basketball season.

I guess the Los Angeles Lakers are giving up on their Lamar Odom experiment eh? As for Kobe's thoughts on this rumored Shawn Marion deal with the Lakers? Kobe wants it to happen... Badly.

Well, that's what 'The Matrix' (that STILL is the most ridiculous nickname in all of basketball... jeez...) claims anyway. Shawn Marion says he already talked to the Lakers superstar and he says Kobe Bryant ''embraced it.''

Shawn Marion has been playing with the Phoenix Suns even before they became this good after signing Steve Nash back from the Dallas Mavericks. Now that his team has become probably one of the best there is in the NBA today, Marion feels he's no longer needed.

And with a team with such names like Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire on its roster, Marion feels he's no longer loved. (It probably has something to do with his stupid moniker taken from one of Keanu Reeves' movies...)

''My name has been mentioned in trades over and over,'' Shawn Marion said. ''I'm tired of hearing about it. It's time for me to take the next step and leave. It's like a bad marriage. It's time to get up. I love my fans, I love the city, I love my teammates. I just think it's time for me to leave.''

Shawn Marion is now in danger of succumbing to the ''Joe Johnson'' experience. That's leaving a powerhouse team in Phoenix to become a star in a team that's still miles away from becoming a title contender.

Just ask Johnson what's life like in Atlanta where they miss the playoffs every single season.
