Hamilton - Alonso Feud Heats Up 2007 F1 Season More
Somebody tell these guys that McLaren - Mercedes already have their hands full on the Stepneygate crisis that the least they can do is shut up.
He he... Yep, as the 2007 F1 season concludes with the last three races of the season, the race to the finish just went from interesting to enticing after the latest stunt that happened between the two McLaren drivers in Belgium.
In case you didn't know it yet, Kimi Raikkonen won the 2007 Belgian Grand Prix at the Spa-Francorchamps to lead a Ferrari one-two finish in the first of the final four races of the season.
Ferrari's win guaranteed them of the 2007 constructors' title following the forfeiture of McLaren - Mercedes and their constructors' championship points after they were found guilty of stealing Ferrari documents and using them to their advantage this year.
That is ONE OF McLaren's problems this season unfortunately.
At the 2007 Belgian Grand Prix, we saw a classic example of how heated this rivalry really is between the two McLaren - Mercedes drivers, Lewis Hamilton and two-time F1 world champion, Fernando Alonso.
In case you missed the race, Fernando Alonso almost deliberately took out his own teammate, Lewis Hamilton, to start the 2007 Belgian Grand Prix. The two McLaren drivers, who are not the best of friends as it is, started the grand prix side-by-side on the second row of the grid.
Heading into the first corner they will still alongside each other when Fernando Alonso, being the silly sonuvabitch that he is, shut the door on his rookie team-mate, forcing him off the track.
Of course, Lewis Hamilton, who still leads the F1 drivers' championship after finishing fourth behind his stupid teammate, was not amused.
''It was blatant. He pushed me wide quite deliberately. I out-braked him through turn one. There was enough room for us both to get round but suddenly I didn't have any room. I tried to get around the outside but he pushed me wide. It was not a fair race maneuver,'' Lewis Hamilton said.
Hamilton still leads the drivers' championship with 97 points while Alonso closes even further with 95 points. Raikkonen and Massa have 84 and 77 respectively for Ferrari heading to the 2007 Japanese Grand Prix on September 30.
Who will win the 2007 F1 championship? Bodog has the odds.
Kimi Raikkonen 7/4
Fernando Alonso 7/4
Lewis Hamilton 9/2
