Fernando Alonso continues to alienate himself from McLaren - Mercedes this 2007 F1 Season

Before anything else, I must state that Fernando Alonso is an asshole.

Now that THAT is out of the way, the 2007 F1 season is only three legs from calling it a season and as we head down to the final three races of the year, Fernando Alonso walking away from McLaren by season's end is slowly becoming more of a possibility.

First, we found out that Fernando Alonso hesitated to represent McLaren in the recently concluded FIA hearing for the infamous ''Stepneygate scandal.'' The big names of McLaren was there, even rookie driver Lewis Hamilton. When the media found out Alonso wasn't coming, it just added controversy from what is already a very controversial time for the McLaren team.

McLaren - Mercedes big boss Ron Dennis revealed that Fernando Alonso wasn't there simply because the two-time F1 world champion turned down the team's invite, claiming he had a ''previous arrangement.''

''Alonso is not here because he does not want to be here,'' Dennis told those present at the hearing when asked why Alonso wasn't present.

''He does not speak to anyone much. He is a remarkable recluse for a driver. He is not here by choice. Moreover, he said he had other things to do by previous arrangement. I cannot force him to come. We asked him to come.''

Then, there are rumors that claim Alonso and his boss are not in speaking terms for more than a month now. Fernando Alonso still believes that the McLaren team favors his rookie teammate, Lewis Hamilton, more and thinks he doesn't get the preferential treatment he thinks he deserves.

''We are not on speaking terms, but that does not matter,'' said Ron Dennis. ''First, the relationship between Fernando and myself is extremely cold. That is an understatement.''

''In Fernando's mind, there is the firm belief that our policy, whereby each driver receives equal treatment, does not properly reflect his status as world champion.''
