Wayne Rooney practices with Manchester United

seth-edward-oneal.jpgYep, he's back. And although a return to the pitch is still unlikely, Rooney practicing again should be enough reason for Man-U fans to smile.

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Wayne Rooney, his prized Manchester United striker, is back to training after suffering a foot injury against Reading to kick off the 2007 English Premiere League season a few weeks ago.

Yep, in case you missed it, Wayne Rooney was hit by the injury bug when Manchester United was playing against Reading for their very first game of the season.

And it definitely looked like it was one huge blow to Fergie's boys too as Manchester United failed to lord over the season's standings, even falling behind city rivals Manchester City, who is in the fifth spot while Man-U settled for sixth.

In case you're wondering, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea FC still are among the top four of the 2007 English Premiere League season while Everton took the place of the struggling Red Devils.

For what it's worth, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is happy to see Wayne Rooney training. Hell, this guy can use any semblance of hope after a rather humbling start to the English Premiership season.

''He's training, which is good,'' Sir Alex Ferguson said. ''I'd not have brought him back to training unless he was ready. The latest scan was good and I'm pleased with that.''

''We have to wait and see how his fitness is.''

Manchester United will be taking on Everton this Saturday and although Wayne Rooney will probably remain on the bench for this weekend's fixture, his presence alone should be enough reason to motivate the Red Devils to win this game.

Hell, they need it.

Here are the odds from Bodog on who will win the 2007-08 English Premiere League title.

Manchester United +150

Chelsea FC +150

Liverpool FC +550

Arsenal FC +650
