2007-08 NFL Football Week 2 Betting Picks
Yep, it's Week 2 baby and we sure had a lot of things that went down already.
First, we found out that the Indianapolis Colts are still in championship form after dismantling the New Orleans Saints to kickoff the 2007-08 NFL football season. Then, we saw Denver's dramatic win over Buffalo from a last second field goal overshadowed by the horrible spinal injury to Bills tight end Kevin Everett. And who can forget that spying cameraman the Patriots had monitoring the Jets?
Yep, all of that happened in Week 1. And as we prepare for Week 2 of the 2007-08 NFL football season, we can expect more of the same stuff. Hell, Terrell Owens hasn't even started talking yet.
Our Week 2 betting picks thing begins with the most valuable team in the NFL, according to Forbes magazine anyway, Dallas Cowboys, taking on the Miami Dolphins at Dolphin Stadium.
Tony Romo sure looked like he's ready to put that botched field goal try from last season's playoffs behind him and become Dallas' next great quarterback. Well, at least he looked the part against the New York Giants from Week 1. They have the Miami Dolphins next and although new Dolphins quarterback Trent Green should be reason enough to be hopeful in Florida, losing to a pathetic team like the Washington Redskins to start the season isn't.
Expect Tony Romo to do more of the same things he did against the Giants and simply molest the Dolphin D. Well, not by much but the Cowboys will still win -6.5.
Sunday night football will feature a rematch of last season's classic AFC divisional match-up, the San Diego Chargers and the New England Patriots. This game should be the match-up of the week as far as I'm concerned.
In case you forgot already, the New England Patriots celebrated in the middle of the Chargers' field after eliminating San Diego from last season's AFC divisional playoffs. Understandably, the rest of the San Diego Chargers were irritated, specifically, the Chargers' ridiculously talented running back LaDainian Tomlinson.
And judging by the way these Chargers negated any offense the Chicago Bears were able to muster last week, letting them score a measly three points, I expect the Chargers to win this game -6.5, over the New England Patriots. Oh yeah, Bill Belichick's spying cameras won't be available for this game.
Week 2 of the 2007-08 NFL football season culminates on Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field where the Philadelphia Eagles play hosts to the Washington Redskins. The Redskins were able to pull off a fast one over the Miami Dolphins last Sunday although that game doesn't necessarily make them one of the elite teams in football already.
The Philadelphia Eagles, on the other hand, ALMOST got the win over the Green Bay Packers last week if it wasn't for Mason Crosby knocking down a 42-yard field goal attempt to give Wisconsin something to cheer about.
It's Monday night football, the highlight of regular season football games any given week. And although both the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles simply suck balls, one WILL accidentally win this one and I'm picking the Eagles -2.5. Oh yeah, if the Eagles can't beat Washington, their fans won't let these Redskins out of the goddamn stadium.
Here are the rest of them picks.
Pittsburgh Steelers over the Buffalo Bills -13.5.
Cincinnati Bengals over the Cleveland Browns -6.5.
Indianapolis Colts over the Tennessee Titans -13.5.
Carolina Panthers over the Houston Texans -6.5.
St. Louis Rams over the San Francisco 49ers -2.5.
Green Bay Packers over the New York Giants -6.5.
Jacksonville Jaguars over the Atlanta Falcons -2.5.
New Orleans Saints over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers -13.5.
Minnesota Vikings over the Detroit Lions -2.5.
Seattle Seahawks over the Arizona Cardinals -6.5.
Baltimore Ravens over the New York Jets -13.5.
Denver Broncos over the Oakland Raiders (... does it matter by how much?)
Chicago Bears over the Kansas City Chiefs -6.5.
There you go, your Week 2 betting picks. As always, good luck folks.
