The reason Shawn Marion wants out of Phoenix is...

seth-edward-oneal.jpgMaybe because he's just sick and tired of watching the Cardinals get pounded on a football field?

He he... I don't know for sure if Shawn Marion follows the 2007-08 NFL football season but one thing's for sure, he wants out of Phoenix. That's despite the fact that he is the team's highest paid player.

In a team that already has stars like Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion woke up one morning and found out that he is now the No.3 guy in the Suns' pecking order heading to the brand new 2007-08 NBA basketball season.

And yeah, with the rumors about the Suns relentlessly trying to trade his ass finally getting to the guy, he feels his eight-year career with the Phoenix Suns is close to being over. That is if he finds a team dumb enough to buy his ridiculously expensive contract.

For what it's worth, Shawn Marion wants to put the entire thing to rest although he claims he still feels the same way. ''I don't want to be bothered by this no more,'' Shawn Marion said. ''What's done is done. It's happened. It has nothing to do with the team, the city or the fans.''

Shawn Marion spent his entire eight-year career in Phoenix. But he had grown weary of the rumors that his team was trying ''desperately'' to trade him. (Yeah, probably because of his ridiculously high pay...)

Shawn Marion is the highest paid Sun this season at $16.4 million. He'll earn $17.9 million in 2008 unless of course, he opts out of Phoenix.

Phoenix Suns general manager Steve Kerr claims this situation with Shawn Marion shouldn't hinder their team's campaign for the 2007-08 NBA basketball season. Kerr recalled a similar time when he had a teammate who had a dispute somewhat within the team's management but still won a championship together.

Chicago Bulls Hall-of-Famer, Scottie Pippen.

''The last year we won a championship, at the beginning of training camp, we had a similar issue, a contract dispute,'' Steve Kerr said. ''It didn't affect the players because we enjoyed playing together. It's business. Players put that aside. That's what we did in Chicago and if I remember correctly we won a championship that year.''

C'mon, who you kiddin' Stevie?
