Southern Miss visit Marshall on Sunday night
Week 8 of the college football season will be having a Sunday night game for only the third time this year.
It'll be the Southern Miss Golden Eagles visiting the Marshall Thundering Herd as the 2007 NCAA college football season continues at Edwards Stadium in Huntington, West Virginia.
The Marshall Thundering Herd, despite all that ''We are Marshall'' crap, are yet to win a single game on that college football field. You've got to wonder when will these guys finally wake up.
Their latest loss, and there have been many this season, were to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Tulsa QB Paul Smith smothered the Thundering Herd defense for 385 yards, not to mention two touchdowns and another when he ran with it.
The result? Another disappointing loss for Marshall, 38-31, extending what has been a pathetic losing streak to SIX GAMES.
For what it's worth, the Thundering Herd, despite all the disappointments they've been having so far, are excited that they'll finally be returning home for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles since New Hampshire hammered them last September 15.
They're hoping that being at home will help them to finally get a win. They need it too because quite frankly, all that losing they've been having is getting quite ridiculous.
''We're excited. We are playing a very good football team in Southern Miss. We're going head-to-head with the NFL, but it's on national television,'' Marshall Thundering Herd head coach Mark Snyder said.
''We have a chance to represent our university against a very good football team. I feel like we match up fairly well with Southern Miss.''
Maybe so but against NFL's Sunday Night Football? Somebody crack this guy's head with a baseball bat.
