Betting on New York Giants at Super Bowl XLII? Here are some props the New England Patriots can review...
Because you never know when the Pats will let, say Brandon Jacobs go over 100 yards to win a bet before they beat New York anyway.
Yes, the Patriots can probably do that with them being THAT good. Hell, they earned them Super Bowl XLII tickets by beating every single team that crossed them. It wouldn't hurt if they win a couple of bets here and there before winning the big football game this Sunday right?
I know what ya'll are probably thinking? How can I question a team like the New England Patriots of their integrity? Well, in case you have forgotten already, they were spying on the New York Jets coaches to win their first game of the season. In case you didn't get that, yes, the Patriots are no angels.
STILL, I'm still expecting these guys to lay the smackdown on the New York Giants to win Super Bowl XLII this Sunday. But if you are betting on New York, these propositions before the big game will keep you busy first.
Let's start with New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning. There are odds on how many passing yards will Eli have against the Patriots defense this Sunday. In his first two playoff games, Eli didn't go over the 200-yard mark in passing. He got 185 passing yards in 20 of 27 attempts against Tampa Bay before going 163 in 12 of 18 passing against Dallas.
But against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC championship game, Eli got a whopping 254-yard game en route to that shocking win at Lambeau, giving the Giants their Super Bowl XLII ticket to Glendale. Can we expect the same performance from Eli this Sunday or will he stay under the 200-yard mark. Eli will be facing the Patriots defense led by Rodney Harrison people and if I was a betting man, I wouldn't expect Eli to reach 200 yards.
Hell, the dude won't even go 150.
There are also odds on how many rushing attempts will New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs have. Jacobs had a total of 201 rushing attempts in the regular season, and had 48 total rushing attempts during the 2008 NFL playoffs.
In the regular season games the New York Giants running back played, he had 20 or more rushing attempts in 6 out of 17 games. Against the Washington Redskins on Week 15 was his highest rushing attempt, which was 25. He only had 15 against the New England Patriots back in Week 17.
Will he go over 15 rushing attempts against the same Patriots defense this Sunday? In case you didn't realize it, rushing for 15 attempts is considered a down game for Jacobs and just because he's just too big and too strong for a running back, I'm expecting him to go past 15 attempts.
But that wouldn't be enough for a Super Bowl championship ring in Glendale.
