Big Games in the 2007-08 NBA Schedule... sort of...
For all ya'll who have been living under a rock lately, yep, the schedule for the new NBA basketball season has been released.
And yep, with virtually everything revolving around this year's rookie class, (at least for the top two overall picks anyway...) defending champions San Antonio Spurs will be out to teach this year's No.1 overall draft pick, Greg Oden, a lesson when they face the Portland Trail Blazers to open the 2007-08 NBA basketball season.
Call it ''baptism of fire,'' as Greg Oden faces off probably with the best fundamentally-sound power forward in basketball today. That being Tim Duncan.
Of course, the big men of the NBA are just waiting to get a piece of Oden, who is, quite frankly, turning out to be ''Mr. Hype'' in the NBA.
Speaking of, did you saw how Shaquille O'Neal told Oden that he'll just see him on the basketball court in the coming season in this year's ESPYS? Now THAT was hilarious. I mean, how can an old fart like Shaq compete with a young powerhouse like Oden? He he...
The San Antonio Spurs will be having a 2007 NBA Finals rematch with the pathetic Cleveland Cavaliers on January 17. Of course, judging by the way the Spurs simply swept the Cavaliers in the Finals, we all know who'll win in that game.
Then maybe, just maybe, we'll see the last of LeBron James' pathetic TV ads.
Kevin Garnett will make his debut with the Boston Celtics on November 2 when they host the Washington Wizards. KG returns to the Twin Cities to play his former team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, on February 8.
Meanwhile, Allen Iverson, provided he doesn't get locked up by then, will be making his return to the Wachovia Center leading the Denver Nuggets against his former team, the Philadelphia 76ers.
Who will win the 2007-08 NBA championship? Bet on Bodog today.
Boston Celtics 90/1
Detroit Pistons 9/1
Cleveland Cavaliers 10/1
