All these golfers love playing in the 2007 British Open

seth-edward-oneal.jpgMaybe because it's Britain and British pussy is hotter? Hmm...

No, seriously, golfers love playing in the 2007 British Open primarily because of the way the course has been set-up at Carnoustie. (And as much as we like to get more, THAT's basically it.)

The top contenders for the 2007 British Open title praised the course at Carnoustie, Scotland for reasons only ''real'' golfers can understand. Obviously, I don't play golf and I don't intend to play wearing those silly trousers anytime soon.

The course set-up this year at Carnoustie is an obvious improvement from what the golfers were forced to play on back in 1999. Many players heavily criticized the course then for being tough to the point where good play was not rewarded.

Tiger Woods, the No.1 ranked golfer in the world, said that this year's course is ''extremely fair,'' adding that ''it's not like it was in 1999.'' Phil Mickelson share his rivals' delight, saying, ''What I really like is how much room there is around the green to hit shots and chip shots.''

However, as much as these golfers love the 2007 Carnoustie course, Tiger Woods claims that the players still won't have an easy time playing in the 2007 British Open, what's left of it anyway.

''If you have wind it becomes more difficult than you think,'' Tiger Woods said.

''You really do have to hit the ball well, and the greens are extremely subtle, just like all links they're very hard to read, so you have to do your homework. I've never heard anyone say Carnoustie is easy. Even the times I played the Scottish Open here, when the conditions were more benign, the scores were not that low.''
