2007 European Grand Prix to divert us from F1 scandal

On Sunday, the Grand Prix of Europe will try to put our attention towards the F1 season again and away from the recent scandal that hit it.

Yep, the 2007 European Grand Prix is STILL ON this Sunday at Nurburgring in Germany despite the recent scandal that hit not only Formula One but the entire racing world as well.

For all ya'll uninformed, it turned out that McLaren had in their possession some sensitive designs stolen from Ferrari that could've given them an advantage over the Scuderia team and over the rest of their rivals in this 2007 F1 season.

THAT means, all those races won by McLaren, including the wins their rookie sensation Lewis Hamilton AND two-time world champion Fernando Alonso had, could very well be a result of cheating.

Sad ain't it?

Well, even with the recent scandal that placed a dark cloud over the 2007 F1 season, the European Grand Prix is still a go as F1 returns to the home of probably the greatest ever F1 driver to put them skid marks at the Nurburgring circuit, Michael Schumacher.

Coming to the 2007 European Grand Prix, McLaren's Lewis Hamilton (whether they cheated or not...) still leads the drivers championship with 70 points followed by his two-time world champion teammate, Fernando Alonso, who has 58.

As for their rivals Ferrari, (who were obviously PISSED after learning about the design leakage that got to McLaren...) Kimi Raikkonen is finally back in form after winning two straight races, one in France and another in Britain. With the current resurgence the Finn is in right now, he is now in third place with 52 championship points.

As for Kimi's less-popular teammate who was kicking the Finn's ass at the early stages of the 2007 F1 season? Well, Felipe Massa is not that far behind from the top three drivers. Massa, with 51 points, still has a chance to shock everybody this season.

Although I won't put my money on that one.

Who will win the 2007 European Grand Prix at Nurburgring? Bodog has the odds.

Kimi Raikkonen 13/10

Felipe Massa 9/5

Fernando Alonso 5/2

Lewis Hamilton 3/1
