Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez V Liverpool American owners in the 2007-08 English Premiership Season

Yep, imagine that, Rafa and his beloved Liverpool have some sort of a problem.

And no, it's not because of the way they started the 2007-08 English Premiership season. They're doing just fine actually, they are still one of the five teams jockeying for position atop the standings so you've got to wonder what the fuss is all about.

Apparently, Liverpool FC manager Rafael Benitez is dumbfounded why the Liverpool American owners failed to, ''back him up,'' in the player transfer market. Liverpool owners have refused to let Rafa Benitez pursue new signings in the coming transfer period on January and the Liverpool manager is pissed about it.

''They don't understand the transfer window in Europe,'' Rafael Benitez said. This is the latest of the Spaniard's recent outbursts towards the ownership. While Rafa was bitching about his team's situation, people are already speculating that the Liverpool manager could very well be on his way out.

''The word from within the club is that the American tycoons have lost all trust in him after recent challenges to their authority and that, despite his popularity with supporters, his dismissal is only a matter of time,'' a British newspaper said.

As expected, the Liverpool organization had some sort of a damage control.

''Despite speculation in today's newspapers, there is nothing new to say,'' Liverpool said in a statement. ''We had a good win yesterday and have got some very important games coming up starting with Porto on Wednesday, followed by Bolton and Reading, before Marseille and Manchester United in a few weeks.''

''Both of us, together with chief executive Rick Parry, plan to meet with Rafa when we come over mid-December to make decisions on the team's requirements at that time.''

Here are the odds from Bodog on who will win the 2007-08 English Premiere League title.

Manchester United +150

Chelsea FC +150

Liverpool FC +550

Arsenal FC +650
