J.P. Losman to start for the Bills again against Patriots
I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
The Buffalo Bills are on a roll. Yep, after their starting quarterback, J.P. Losman, went down in Week 3 of the 2007-08 NFL football season in a loss to the Patriots, the Bills have won five of their last six games as Trent Edwards assumed control of the Bills offense at the starting quarterback position.
As they head for their Week 11 game, against the New England Patriots again, the Buffalo Bills will be having J.P. Losman back at the starting QB spot. Now I don't know if that's the right thing to do for Buffalo because, after all, they are winning with Trent Edwards running the show.
Why fix something that's not broken in the first place anyway? Yeah, sure, J.P. Losman was sensational the last couple of weeks, leading the Buffalo Bills in two straight come-from-behind victories. But will he have the same game against the Pats now that he probably retrieved the spotlight in Buffalo again?
Down 10-2 after three quarters, J.P. Losman guided the Bills to a 13-10 victory over the winless Miami Dolphins last Sunday, his second straight fourth-quarter comeback win and third of his career. He also manufactured a late-game rally for Buffalo two weeks ago over Cincinnati.
Losman completed just 12 of 23 passes for 157 yards and one interception against the Dolphins. He was also sacked twice and struggled during most of the first three quarters.
He's now led the team to three straight wins, including three weeks ago against the New York Jets in a relief appearance after Trent Edwards sprained his wrist. Can he go for a fourth straight win against an unbeaten New England Patriots team that took him out of the starting QB spot in Buffalo last September?
NAH. Just expect the Patriots to win their 10th straight win. Simple as that.
