Denver Nuggets host struggling New York Knicks
And just because we all know that the Knicks will get pounded on Saturday, we'll just pretend we have no idea what's going on with Isiah.
Just when you though New York Knicks head coach Isiah Thomas already has enough problems this 2007-08 NBA basketball season, they are set to face the red-hot Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
The Denver Nuggets are riding on a four-game winning streak as they continue to hunt the Utah Jazz down, leading the Northwest division ahead of Denver by just a single game.
Against the visiting New York Knicks on Saturday, the Nuggets just might close in on Utah even further. And with the kind of game they were able to come up with the last time they were on the court, the Knicks won't even have a chance.
The Nuggets were playing a very young and talented Portland Trail Blazers team at home in what turned out to be a lopsided contest. Denver never trailed at the end of each of the four quarters, annihilating the Blazers to a 110-93 victory.
The Denver Nuggets want to be dominant at home and they sure made their point clear against Portland.
Carmelo Anthony came up with a game-high 25 points while Allen Iverson added 20. But perhaps the biggest story in this game was the production of forward Kenyon Martin, who is quickly becoming a solid contributor both in the offensive and the defensive side of the ball, reminiscent of his days in New Jersey where he became such a force inside the paint.
Kenyon Martin came up with 14 points on 7-9 shooting. He also had 2 blocks, 2 steals and 4 rebounds.
I'm not expecting K-Mart to have a similar game against the big Knicks frontline but I'd still be expecting the Denver Nuggets to win and for K-Mart to do the little things while Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson are busy doing damage.
