Michael Vick to plead guilty Monday and end NFL career

It sure damn looks like it.

In case you've been living under a rock lately, Atlanta Falcons QB (soon to be former anyway...) Michael Vick has been having his problems with the courts lately, merely weeks before the 2007-08 NFL football season begins, after virtually getting his ass screwed by dogfighting scandals.

And now, Michael Vick is probably bidding his NFL football career goodbye as he prepares to plead guilty to the federal dogfighting conspiracy charges. Yep, Vick is expected to plead guilty on Monday, August 27.

For what it's worth, at least he can still watch WWE SummerSlam this Sunday as a free man right? He he... And if I was Michael Vick, I'd start watching WWE chairman Vince McMahon's programs from now on. You never know when he will come up with another football league that might just sign anyone who can throw a football.

Yep, even dog-killers like him.

But for now, the Atlanta Falcons QB prepares to plead guilty and is probably setting himself up for up to FIVE YEARS in prison too. Man, I wouldn't want to be in Vick's shoes even if the guy paid me.

''After consulting with his family over the weekend, Michael Vick asked that I announce today that he has reached an agreement with federal prosecutors regarding the charges pending against him,'' lead defense attorney Billy Martin said in a statement.

''Mr. Vick has agreed to enter a plea of guilty to those charges and to accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made. Michael wishes to apologize again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter.''

As for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell? Well, rumor has it that he is expected to ban Michael Vick from the NFL indefinitely and it sure looks like it will be highly unlikely Vick will ever play in the league again.

''We are aware of Michael Vick's decision to enter a guilty plea to the federal charges against him and accept responsibility for his conduct. We totally condemn the conduct outlined in the charges, which is inconsistent with what Michael Vick previously told both our office and the Falcons,'' the NFL said in a statement.

''We will conclude our own review under the league's personal conduct policy as soon as possible. In the meantime, we have asked the Falcons to continue to refrain from taking action pending a decision by the commissioner.''

The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to release Michael Vick immediately because they want to get back some of Vick's signing bonus of approximately $22 million. They will wait until Vick is suspended by the league because that will put Vick in violation of his contract.

Who will be the favorites to win Super Bowl XLII in Glendale, Arizona? Here are the odds from Bodog:

Atlanta Falcons 50/1

New England Patriots 10/1

Chicago Bears 8/1

Indianapolis Colts 7/1
