Can these NCAA College Football QBs win in 2007 season?
Quarterbacks. They always get the praise for a win. Yep, they always get the blame for their team fucking up too.
Be it in the college level or in the professional ranks, football teams always rely on their quarterbacks to get the W any given week. If a team has a quarterback like, say, Peyton Manning, then winning should be a breeze. If they have a pathetic QB like Andrew Walter, jeez... they better start looking for other things to do.
With the 2007-08 NCAA college football season upon us, the quarterbacks will resume what I assume is their four-year plan to play in the professional level. But before they lock heads with the likes of Ray Lewis or Michael Strahan, they better start winning football games in college first.
John David Booty of the USC Trojans, probably is the quarterback who faces the most pressure coming into the new season. Hell, he has HUGE shoes to fill with former USC Trojan QBs Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart all going to the Heisman route.
Oh yeah, the guy still has a 2008 BCS championship to win for Southern Cal too.
In Oklahoma, THREE quarterbacks face pressure too. Sam Bradford, Keith Nichol and Joey Halzle, collectively, have only thrown for TWO college passes. Yeah sure, the Oklahoma Sooners don't demand greatness from their QBs but in order to win some games, these QBs have to get the football to their wideouts and their running backs first.
Brian Brohm could've gone pro in the 2007 NFL Draft last April with his coach already making the move from college football to pro. Instead, he opted to stay with the Louisville Cardinals and play his Senior year trying to learn his team's new offensive scheme. Can he win? He has to. Lose and people around him will start to buzz whether he should've just gone pro or not.
Las but certainly not the least, we have Tim Tebow, the fullback turned quarterback from the defending NCAA college football champions, Florida Gators. Last season was an experimental stage of some sorts for Tebow, who was a Freshman then. Coming to his Sophomore year, many expect him to improve even better at the position. That's while winning a BCS title again too.
Crazy sonsabitches.
