2007 F1 season resumes in Istanbul this Sunday
You just know it will be between McLaren teammates Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso again.
If you think otherwise, then I suggest you watch the last two races when Lewis Hamilton won in Hungary after Fernando Alonso won in Germany. Oh yeah sure, the current rivalry going on between the two makes this Sunday's race in Turkey that much more interesting too.
For all ya'll who have been living under a rock lately, McLaren-Mercedes teammates Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton have this hush hush rivalry that has been tearing the entire McLaren team apart.
Alonso wants to be a three-time F1 world champion and take the young Lewis Hamilton under his wing at the beginning of the 2007 F1 season. The only problem there was, Alonso, and probably along with the rest of McLaren-Mercedes, didn't expect Hamilton to be this good.
For what it's worth, Alonso is looking forward to resume this year's race for the title in Istanbul this Sunday and he knows that whoever between him and Lewis Hamilton comes out on top, it will be the McLaren team who'll be the real winners. Of course, believing what this guy says is like trusting the U.S. government.
''It is always great to have a break and re-charge the batteries, but it is fantastic to be getting back out on track in Turkey,'' Fernando Alonso said.
''I have a solid points total in the drivers' world championship and I am aiming to build on that considerably in Istanbul. We are in a strong position in both championships and there are a lot of points to be won in the final six races.''
''However, we are looking at the races one by one, and my focus is on this grand prix and getting the best result possible in Turkey. I have come second in the two years we have raced here previously and I will be aiming to improve on that this time.''
Of course, Hamilton, being the cocky S.O.B. that he is, STILL feels that he is the man in Formula One and judging by his performances this 2007 F1 season, I don't blame him.
Who will win the 2007 F1 championship? Bodog has the odds.
Kimi Raikkonen 7/4
Fernando Alonso 7/4
Lewis Hamilton 9/2
Felipe Massa 5/2
