In Games 1 and 2, at the Palace of Auburn Hills, the Detroit Pistons were virtually in control of the young Chicago Bulls as the Pistons won both games in rather emphatic fashion. The Pistons trashed the Bulls in Game 1, 95-69, before trashing them yet again, 108-87 in Game 2 as Detroit took a 2-0 lead over Chicago.
In Game 3, the Bulls definitely looked like they were ready to respond to Detroit's challenge after taking a commanding 44-28 lead at halftime. The only problem was, destiny began taking over and destiny picked the Pistons.
The Bulls blew a 19-point lead as the Pistons outscored the Bulls in the third quarter, 32-17, before doing it again in the fourth, 21-13, as Detroit took a commanding 3-0 lead with only a win away from yet another sweep.
Tayshaun Prince and Chauncey Billups stepped up at just the right time and the Detroit Pistons are on the verge of another trip to the Eastern Conference finals.
