What will make Barry Bonds and the rest of these MLB players talk about their brush with steroids?
Yep, former U.S. Senator George Mitchell has been asking himself that for quite some time now.
The ex-Senator of the proud U.S. of A has been assigned to do what everybody has been trying to accomplish, clean up this steroids issue in MLB Baseball. Yep, Mr. Mitchell could be dealing with the impossible. He he...
NOBODY has been able to pull off this clean-up job and I'm betting it will stay that way for a damn long time unless America just accepts the fact that their baseball stars are... quite frankly, junkies... (Yep, Barry Bonds, the same man who'll probably overtake the legendary Hank Aaron in homeruns this season, is a goddamn junkie...)
Mitchell, probably desperate to get this ''Mission Impossible'' over with, is now asking MLB players politely to finally spill out everything. Of course, it's harder than you think. It'll be THAT hard that Mitchell will probably need more than luck to pull this thing off. So wish him luck, he'll probably need it BAD. He he...
George Mitchell doesn't have much of a choice anyway. He doesn't have the power to require ANYBODY to do ANYTHING. That means, he'll just be relying on the players' goodwill. Good luck with that grandpa.
Yeah sure, the guy's very well connected. He has all these friends in high places. But what he doesn't have is probably the most important thing of all to pull off MLB's rather ridiculous job and that's subpoena power.
The old fart doesn't have the legal power to ''force'' anybody to talk. And yeah, without that one single legal muscle, we saw this guy bang to the brick wall he has been slamming into for the past 14 months. It's really getting tiresome really.
What these players are asking, privately, is what the upside is for them, for their friends and teammates, even for the sport, if they agree to talk. I guess what these MLB players should be asking George Mitchell is does he SPIT or SWALLOW?
Who will win the 2007 MLB World Series Championship? Bodog has the odds.
New York Yankees 7/2
Boston Red Sox 9/1
Detroit Tigers 5/1
