Instant Replays RULE in the 2007 NHL Playoffs
Yep, apparently, hockey is so fucking pathetic that they just let instant replays decide NHL playoff games.
Referees stand outside the penalty box with a phone receiver pressed on his ear as they look video replays that will decide yet another game in the ongoing saga of the 2007 NHL Playoffs.
Yep, this scene has definitely become a fixture the last couple of games as the television audience and the two opposing teams await the decision of what might just pull them out of what has been ''technological purgatory.''
Oh yeah, the New York Rangers and the Buffalo Sabres sure have their fair share of these. Heck, the Rangers found themselves in this predicament in the past two playoff games they shared with the Sabres.
Buffalo's near goal with 17 seconds left was the crucial point in New York's victory merely TWO DAYS after a New York Rangers goal was disallowed when someone reviewed one of these fucking instant replays.
''We tell our video goal judges, if you see something questionable around the net, review it,'' Colin Campbell said in a telephone interview from Toronto. Campbell is the NHL senior vice president and director of hockey operations.
''In the past, so many of those things would have gone undetected,'' he adds.
The NHL has used replay since 1991, the first of the major leagues to turn to it. It comes under the most scrutiny in playoff games.
What if they just come up with something like what they do in NFL football where coaches have a couple of ''challenges'' they can use that will only allow game officials to go under the hood and review instant replays of crucial points in the game?
Now THAT should be fair right?
