Did a former Manchester United star screw Chelsea?

After Chelsea was kicked out of the UEFA Champions League, their race for the Premiership could be over too, thanks to Everton's Phil Neville.

Yeah, I know what you guys are thinking, (well, for those of you who follow soccer anyway...) ''what in the hell does Everton have to do with the race between Man-U and Chelsea for the Premiership?''

Well, for all ya'll who don't know, Phil Neville was a former Manchester United defender and he was leading his new team, Everton, against his former Red Devil teammates Saturday, in a game Man-U can't afford to lose to keep Chelsea in their rear view mirror.

Well, the set-up was 2-1, in favor of Everton over Manchester United and it seemed then that Chelsea could finally get that Man-U loss to pull them within striking distance of the Premiership lead.

In the 68th minute, the screw job happened. Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville put through an own goal, that's like scoring for the opposing team instead of your own, to help his former teammates tie the game 2-2 against his own squad. He he... What are the odds to that?

And to make matters worse for Chelsea, Wayne Rooney and Chris Eagles set-up the go-ahead goal to put Manchester United ahead for good. This completed Manchester United's remarkable comeback, which started of course from Everton's own, Phil ''still a Red Devil'' Neville. The win may have ended Chelsea's bid for the Premiership title as Man-U are now five-points ahead of the Blues.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, in spite of this somewhat controversial development, declared that he is not questioning the integrity of Phil Neville nor has any problems with the former Manchester United player.

''I have not seen the goal. But I am nobody to doubt the moral integrity of a player and have no reason to,'' Jose Mourinho said.
