Another comeback for John Elway, this time with AFL

Yep, there's no reason why we should stop talking about football.

Remember John Elway? Yep, he was that great Denver Broncos quarterback who just kept on leading his team back in what should've been lost football games. Yep, he was that NFL Football icon who walked out of the game as a Super Bowl champion, TWICE. And yeah, he's that guy Jake Plummer tried to replace, and if you really want to know, Plummer failed miserably.

THIS TIME, it seems John Elway is making yet another comeback. He won't be in his familiar Broncos No.7 though but in a suit as he will begin an era in the Arena Football League (AFL) as chairman of the league's prestigious Executive Committee.

Expect John Elway to make a comeback in ESPN's sports headlines, provided that the AFL does good this year. Well, with ESPN finally covering AFL Football games, it's a possibility.

Colorado Crush co-owner John Elway was elected chairman of the AFL Executive Committee by the members of that committee at the AFL Board Meetings in Miami. The said committee works closely with AFL Football commissioner David Baker on all pertinent league matters and generally votes on all issues before they are presented to the Board of Directors.

Owner of the Los Angeles Avengers (Avengers? Where did these pathetic AFL team names came from?..) Casey Wasserman was the Executive Committee chairman before John Elway. He served as chairman for almost three years before rotating out of the position.

Now that the legendary Broncos QB takes over, Wasserman will serve the committee as Chairman Emeritus.

Elway, on the other hand, also rotates off as chairman of the Rules and Competition Committee, although he remains a member of that group.
