Red Sox in MLB baseball add more problems for Boston

Boston sure is taking quite a dive the last couple of weeks.

After probably reaching the highest pinnacle in sports, with the Boston Red Sox winning the 2007 MLB World Series, the New England Patriots going undefeated before Super Bowl XLII and the Boston Celtics dominating the league with their ridiculously talented revamped lineup, it was all downhill since.

And heading to the 2008 MLB baseball season, it looks like Boston still has one more to be mournful about. Curt Schilling, the superstar pitcher of the Boston Red Sox, is hurt merely a few more weeks before the baseball season kicks off. Cruel huh?

After the New England Revolution (that's Boston's soccer team in MLS soccer...) and the New England Patriots both choking in their respective championship games, the city dubbed as ''title town'' started having all sorts of adversity lately and this problem within the Boston Red Sox camp is the last thing the city needs right now.

Hell, after all that hype surrounding every single Boston sports franchise this year, the Boston Red Sox are the only ones who have lived up to it. The Boston Celtics you say? Until Kevin Garnett comes back from his injury and become the dominant player that he is, I wouldn't go ga-ga over the Celtics again just yet.

As far as Curt Schilling is concerned, the Boston Red Sox veteran is suffering from a shoulder injury that just might pull him out of the Red Sox rotation for the 2008 MLB baseball season.

Uh oh...

''Curt Schilling was examined by Red Sox doctors in January after he reported feeling right shoulder discomfort,'' the Boston Red Sox said in a statement. ''Curt has started a program of rest, rehabilitation and shoulder strengthening in an attempt to return to pitching.''

He BETTER return. Heck, the Red Sox organization is paying him $8 million this year.

Can the Boston Red Sox defend their title and win the 2008 MLB World Series? AcesAce sportsbook has the odds.
