Manny Pacquiao set to fight Juan Manuel Marquez again

Yep, Manny Pacquiao will bore us once again of how he'll save his country by knocking his and his opponent's teeth out.

Lame huh? But I heard that's how they market Manny Pacquiao. Sure, I've been dogging this guy ever since the guy started to irritate me but it's really getting old now.

Nevertheless, Manny Pacquiao will be back in the ring. Yes, that stupid haircut, the odd mustache and the funny accent are all back in all of its duck-fetus eating glory. I can only hope that Juan Manuel Marquez finally puts the guy out of his misery this time.

This fight, dubbed as Pacquiao-Marquez II is on March 15 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. It will be for the World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight championship of the world, currently held by Marquez but somehow, the stupid Pacman actually believes it's his in the first place.

Well, I can't really blame the guy, he barely understands basic English for crying out loud.

''Marquez-Pacquiao II will be one of those 'must-see' fights for boxing fans,'' HBO PPV's Mark Taffet said. ''Kudos to the promoters and fighters for continuing to make the fights that boxing fans want to see and for continuing the sport's momentum well into 2008.''

Um... There are people who actually likes watching this third-world idiot?

Pacquiao won seven of his last eight fights, despite being beaten to a pulp by about three of those eight. Oh yeah, I had Pacquiao losing in three of them fights too but that's already an entirely different story altogether.

Juan Manuel Marquez, on the other hand, won six of his last seven since meeting Pacquiao the first time. He retained his WBC super featherweight title by beating Rocky Juarez via a unanimous decision last November 3.

And, as always, if Pacquiao wins, we'll riot.

Can Juan Manuel Marquez beat Manny Pacquiao and knock the duck fetus out of those odd mustache? AcesAce sportsbook has the odds.

At least Shaquille O'Neal admits the Miami Heat SUCK

seth-edward-oneal.jpgFINALLY. He he... Then again, knowing Shaq, he's probably admitting nothing. Nevertheless here it is.

After all their struggles this 2007-08 NBA basketball season, Shaq finally spoke about his team's somewhat dismal performance. Are you ready? He says he's having one terrible season.

Yep, Shaquille O'Neal has admitted that he is having a terrible season and he says he needs to do more to help the Miami Heat win some games.

The Miami Heat is in shambles this season, sitting at the bottom of the East along with the usual whipping boys of the league. For a team that has a roster of old farts trying to put a ball through a hoop, I'm not surprised.

As for Shaquille O'Neal, he is now 35 years old and is in the middle of his least productive season in his entire career. He has averages of 14.3 points and 7.7 rebounds in 27.8 minutes of play. Not bad for a solid NBA athlete, horrible of you're freakin' 7'1'' and 300+ pounds.

''It's terrible,'' Shaquille O'Neal said when asked to evaluate his play. ''When you win, it's easier to accept. You can't say nothing. I have to adjust. We still have to adjust. Hopefully, it doesn't take a full season of failing for us to adjust.''

NEWSFLASH Shaq, it will.

And mind you, this is after he virtually told the media that it's his teammates fault and not his, why they've been this pathetic this season. He claimed he didn't get the ball enough. Then he started demanding that the rest of those sick fucks from Miami should start passing him the ball inside the post more often.

I don't blame him. Since he's surrounded by retards like Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem who just can't shoot the ball period, Miami's better off to have Shaq shoot a goddamn free throw.

Was there a worse NFL team than the '07 Miami Dolphins?

I was THIS close from coming up with a ''was there a worse NBA team than the '07 Miami Heat'' bit...

But I figured, I still have more than enough time to do that in the NBA's 82-game season. As far as the 2007-08 NFL football season is concerned, they only have 17 weeks, so I'll try to berate these retards as much as I can.

Yes, DISMAL has been the very word to describe the pathetic Miami Dolphins. These guys ALMOST went through a full season WINLESS after their 1972 counterparts went on to become the first undefeated team in the NFL.

So who were worse? Better yet, who was the worst?

Back in 1980, the New Orleans Saints posted a dismal 1-15 record that came from a deranged 0-14 start. Although these guys had decent seasons with Archie Manning and Wes Chandler running the team, they opened up their 1980 campaign losing 14 STRAIGHT GAMES. Jeez...

Luckily, they played an equally pathetic team then, the 3-12 New York Jets. Jets running back Bruce Harper committed a crucial gaffe by running around in pursuit of extra yardage for 12 seconds late in the fourth quarter. He got as far as the Saints' 37-yard line with 11 seconds left but failed to get out of bounds. The Jets, out of timeouts, couldn't get another play off and lost 21-20.

They lost to the New England Patriots the following week to finish the season 1-15.

In 1997, the Indianapolis Colts started their campaign 0-10, finishing with a dismal 3-13 mark. And in case you're wondering, NO, Peyton Manning hasn't arrived yet.

Jim Harbaugh, Paul Justin and Kelly Holcomb all threw at least 73 passes for the '97 Colts, and weren't necessarily terrible, finishing 14th in yards and 13th in yards per attempt. In fact, this team wasn't nearly as bad at its 0-10 start indicated.

The Colts actually finished the season outgaining their opponents and featured Marshall Faulk and Marvin Harrison on offense. But they kept losing the close ones, as five losses by four points or less contributed to the 0-10 start.

And then we have Miami...

Primoz Brezec loves playing for the Detroit Pistons

seth-edward-oneal.jpgAnd by ''playing'' we mean, sitting down on the bench for a looong period of time, shouting his lungs out for Rip to make a 15-foot jumper.

He he... Yes, Primoz Brezec and Charlotte Bobcats teammate, Walter Hermann were traded to the Detroit Pistons this 2007-08 NBA basketball season. As expected, they're more than happy to be part of a winning team and out of that shithole in Charlotte. Hell, they don't even care whether they get some playing time or not.

Of course, for Primoz Brezec, he was spending a whole lot of time on the Charlotte Bobcats bench this season to begin with anyway. After being the main option in the pathetic Bobcats offense, his minutes declined last season with some blaming an extensive summer with his national team in Slovenia.

This season, Primoz Brezec missed two weeks of preseason due to personal reasons. Of course, he will fall further down the pecking order as far as playing time in the Charlotte Bobcats lineup is concerned.

He knows that nothing will probably change once he gets in Detroit. But hey, at least he'll win.

''We're so glad, happy, excited, and hopefully it's not going to be just one year. We're looking forward to being here for a long period of time. We both talked, and we want to retire as Pistons,'' Primoz Brezec said, referring to him and teammate Walter Hermann.

''The Detroit Pistons is the definition of what team basketball is supposed to be,'' Brezec added. ''Everything they do, they do the right way. From the top to the bottom; organization, players, how they play on offense, how they play on defense, unselfish, share the ball.''

''There's a world championship here, and that's why me and Walter are here to help this team get back on track.''

Can the Ohio State Buckeyes win BCS National Title?

First thing's first. Admit it, you never thought Ohio State would be making a return here right?

I don't blame you. With the way the Ohio State Buckeyes were shocked out of the national title picture to finish the season, expecting the Buckeyes to play for the championship in January became nothing more but wishful thinking.

But lo and behold, in a season full of upsets, (and we sure had a lot of them in the 2007 NCAA college football season...) the top teams on top of the Buckeyes fell the same path, letting Ohio State make that climb atop the BCS rankings again and giving them back the spot at the 2008 BCS national championship game that was swiftly taken away from them.

In the end, the 11-1 Ohio State will be playing for it all, against another team that ALMOST missed their BCS national championship berth, the LSU Tigers. Good thing Ohio State was fortunate enough to have their championship berth back right? Um... Not quite.

The Buckeyes, even though they will be making their second consecutive trip to the BCS national championship game, are probably in trouble considering they haven't beaten any team from the SEC every single time they get to college football's grandest stage.

Yep, the Buckeyes were always frustrated by SEC teams in these BCS bowl games, they are 0-9 against SEC opponents.

Last season, the Buckeyes lost to SEC giants, Florida Gators, giving Florida the college football national title after winning college hoops gold. And in case you're wondering, the LSU Tigers are also coming out of the SEC when they play in the 2008 AllState BCS national championship game on January.

Who'll win? It's anybody's guess at this point. But if I was a betting man, I'm picking Ohio State since they will be the underdogs playing for a national title in a season full of upsets.

Yes people, one last upset is in the making.

Longhorns meet the Sun Devils at the Holiday Bowl

Happy holidays people!

Now that THAT is out of the way, the culmination of the 2007 NCAA college football season continues with the Holiday Bowl on December 27 when the Texas Longhorns lock horns with the Arizona State Sun Devils.

And although missing a BCS bowl game should definitely be a disappointment for the Arizona State Sun Devils and their fans, they still are coming off their best season in over a decade and they should still be excited about their date with the Texas Longhorns at Qualcomm Stadium two days after Christmas.

Hell, it's not easy to go 10-2 with ten being the most victories the football program has got since they won 11 back in 1996 when they won the Pac-10 title.

And although first-year Arizona State Sun Devils head coach Dennis Erickson may beg to differ about his team missing out on a BCS bowl game, he knows the BCS ranking system can sometimes be unfair.

''It's working as well as it can,'' coach Dennis Erickson said of the BCS. ''They have to make decisions. That's the system. They made their decisions; they voted and it's over and done. I remember when Auburn was 13-0 (in 2004) and didn't make it into the championship game. That's just how it is.''

Facing the Texas Longhorns is no cakewalk either.

The Longhorns offense has become much more balanced during the second half of the season, when runningback Jamaal Charles began running with the football more to go alongside quarterback Colt McCoy and their solid passing game.

Texas won all five games in which Charles carried the football 22 times or more.

Can Arizona State stop this guy? Not if they're still bitching about missing out on a BCS bowl game.

2007 Las Vegas Bowl: UCLA Bruins V BYU Cougars

seth-edward-oneal.jpgViva Las Vegas! Viva Las Vegas! (Or something like that...)

Yep, those college kids will be coming to Las Vegas while their moms probably hope their kids will go there to watch a football game between the UCLA Bruins and the BYU Cougars, staying away from all those blackjack tables and slot machines.

Oh yes, the UCLA Bruins will be playing the Brigham Young Cougars in the 2007 Las Vegas Bowl at the Sam Boyd Stadium. Of course, those college kids I mentioned will still be gambling. He he...

The Brigham Young Cougars look to extend a nine-game winning streak when they face the stumbling UCLA Bruins. Considered as one of the nation's most balanced teams, the Brigham Young Cougars posted 458 yards of total offense per game under new quarterback Max Hall, compared to the 465 it averaged during John Beck's final campaign.

Brigham Young Cougars running back Harvey Unga was another dominant new face in the Cougars attack, totaling 1,840 yards from scrimmage and 17 touchdowns in his red shirt freshman season.

Brigham Young sophomore defensive end Jan Jorgensen leads the BYU defense after pacing the Mountain West in both quarterback sacks and tackles for losses.

At the other side of the field, health problems and inconsistent quarterback play have been hurting the UCLA Bruins all season long. ''Certainly the issues of injuries came into play this year, but the concerns that have plagued us just in a general sense relate to inconsistent play,'' UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero said.

The UCLA Bruins have been much more consistent in their ground game, rushing for 1,801 yards and 12 touchdowns. UCLA Bruins running backs Kahlil Bell and Chris Markey split time at the HB spot, combining for a total of 1,393 yards.

The UCLA Bruins is the first Pac-10 team to play in three Las Vegas Bowls, having defeated New Mexico 27-13 in 2002 and losing 24-21 to Wyoming two years later.

2007 New Orleans Bowl: Memphis V Florida Atlantic

seth-edward-oneal.jpgHow about that, those guys are still milking the Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans thing...

On Friday, as the New Orleans Saints try to keep their playoff hopes alive, a championship will be decided as the Memphis Tigers take on the Florida Atlantic Owls at the Superdome for the 2007 New Orleans Bowl.

Led by Florida Atlantic Owls head coach Howard Schnellenberger, the Owls will try to help their coach improve to 5-0 since becoming a head coach in bowl games, though he has not appeared in one since leading Louisville to a Liberty Bowl win over Michigan State in 1993. Howard Schnellenberger's most notable postseason appearance was a 1983 Orange Bowl win over Nebraska that gave Miami a national championship.

The Florida Atlantic Owls won their final two games of the season on the road to finish with a 6-1-conference record. They now look to win three straight for the first time since the 2004 season when they go up against the Memphis Tigers.

Florida Atlantic Owls quarterback Rusty Smith was voted the Sun Belt player of the year. Smith led the conference with 3,352 passing yards and a school-record 27 touchdowns while throwing only eight interceptions.

Florida Atlantic Owls wide receiver Cortez Gent has been the beneficiary of course. Cortez Gent had a career-high 155 yards and a touchdown on eight catches in the conference-clinching win over Troy. Gent has 1,030 receiving yards and nine TDs in 11 games after totaling just 66 yards in nine games as a redshirt freshman last season.

Memphis Tigers (7-5) have been going the same way Florida Atlantic has, heading into its fourth bowl game in five seasons and second such appearance in New Orleans. The Memphis Tigers beat Sun Belt foe North Texas 27-17 in that 2003 game, and moved to 4-1 in bowls by beating Akron 38-31 to win the 2005 Motor City Bowl in their most recent postseason appearance.

Memphis Tigers appeared to miss out on a bowl berth for a second straight year after opening 2-4 this season following its 2-10 record in 2006. But, the Memphis Tigers bounced back to win five of their final six games, finishing tied for the second-best record in Conference USA at 6-2.

''What a great reward for this football team, for this team to come together the way it did this year and battle back from so many adversities; this bowl invitation is a tribute to what they have accomplished and overcome,'' Memphis Tigers coach Tommy West said.

The Memphis Tigers capped the regular season by winning the longest game in school history, 55-52 in triple overtime against Southern Methodist on Nov. 24. Let's see they use that momentum against Florida Atlantic at the New Orleans Bowl on Friday.

Can Giants secure NFL playoff spot by beating Redskins?

Um... Yes.

As the 2007-08 NFL football season winds down to its final three weeks, the New York Giants are probably a guarantee for the NFC playoffs. How they do once they get there would be an entirely different story of course.

But before we do that, the New York Giants must first have to take care of the still emotional Washington Redskins on Sunday Night Football. A win here WILL SECURE that final NFL playoff berth in the NFC. A loss would just complicate things and with the way Eli Manning handles the football, the Giants can't have any more complications.

The Washington Redskins are just at a dismal 4-5 mark playing against NFC conference rivals. And when these guys go up against division rivals, New York Giants, I reckon the Redskins won't be improving that pathetic stand. They are 1-3 against division foes anyway.

And with the New York Giants coming off back to back wins, one against Philly and another against Chicago, they have all the momentum they need to pull off a playoff-clinching win on Sunday night.

However, there's one small cause for concern within the Giants camp.

As they continue to win games during these remaining few weeks of the season, the Giants' production has declined somewhat. The Giants averaged 26.7 points during their first seven games, but in their last six contests, the Giants only averaged 17.2 points per contest.

Yeah, sure, a difference of ten points is not much as long as you have a good quarterback that can always lead you to win at crunch time. The problem is, Giants quarterback Eli Manning is still a few miles away from becoming a good quarterback and they won't survive in the postseason if their offense continue to decline this way.

They'd still beat Washington on Sunday night though. How they do from there is still something to worry about.

Ohio State Buckeyes V LSU Tigers for BCS National Title

seth-edward-oneal.jpgOh yes, the Buckeyes have found their way back to the national championship picture.

And although Ohio is GEOGRAPHICALLY still a part of the cesspool dubbed as ''Miami,'' I'll just pretend it's not. After all, the Buckeyes ARE playing for a national title on January 7 in the 2008 AllState BCS Championship Game, unlike the rest of Miami's teams that can't do anything right but suck their own balls come game time.

And in case you still didn't get that, I've been a Buckeye fan for a long time now and will be rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes against the LSU Tigers a few weeks from now. That's considering the fact that the national championship game will be played on the Tigers' turf, den if you will, in New Orleans.

This will be the second consecutive trip for the Ohio State Buckeyes to the BCS national championship game. And in case you missed it, the Florida Gators beat the Buckeyes the last time they were here and I reckon it'll be Ohio State's BOWL GAME this time.

Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Jim Tressel led the Buckeyes to yet another dominant campaign, finishing with the 11-1 stand this season. That's a 73-15 conference record, 208-72-2 overall in 22 seasons, including the 2003 BCS National Championship. Ohio State claimed the Big 10 Title for the second straight year, winning the title outright with a 14-3 victory over the Michigan Wolverines in the regular season finale on November 17.

The LSU Tigers, on the other hand, are having a terrific year as well.

The No.2 ranked LSU Tigers have a 11-2, 6-2 in the SEC, leading them to their second straight appearance in New Orleans for a BCS Bowl game and will play for the BCS National Championship for the second time in four years.

LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles led LSU to a 33-6 record 61-27 in seven seasons as a head coach and guided the Tigers to their first conference title in four years with a 21-14 win over Tennessee in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta on December 1.

This will be just the third meeting between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the LSU Tigers, playing a home-and-home series in 1987 and 1988. The two teams played to a 13-all tie on Sept. 26, 1987 in Baton Rouge.

This will be Ohio State's fourth Bowl appearance in New Orleans, where the Buckeyes are 1-2.

The LSU Tigers will make its fourth Bowl appearance in New Orleans this decade and 14th overall. The Tigers are 6-7 in Bowl games in the Crescent City, and have won their last three games.

2007-08 NFL Football Week 15 Gambling Guide

Week 15 people, two more weeks to go and the second season begins.

And guess what, after 14 weeks into the 2007-08 NFL football season, the Pats are still perfect. Sure, Pittsburgh probably gave them a little bit of a scare with Anthony Smith running his mouth as if New England's passing game was nothing and sure, the Ravens ALMOST gave them their first loss of the season the week before, but the fact of the matter is, the Patriots still are undefeated and this week, I'll be expecting more of the same.

Why? Well, the New England Patriots have the New York Jets again in what would be a rematch since the ''spying allegations'' broke out. If there's one team to blame for New England's dominance, it's the Jets and yep, the Pats probably hate these guys the most.

It was this New York Jets team that ratted out the Patriots for illegally videotaping the Jets sidelines to start this very season back at the Meadowlands. Yep, this could very well be a game where the Patriots will be out for nothing more but revenge. But, typical of Bill Belichick, the Pats say this is just any other game and the Jets are nothing more but victim No.14 on the schedule.

Nevertheless, bet on the Patriots -13.5 to destroy the Jets. Because the last time these two teams met, New England dominated for a 24-point win. Guess what, nothing will change come game time.

Sunday Night Football will feature a match-up between the New York Giants and the visiting Washington Redskins. The Giants are looking to secure that playoff spot in the NFC while the Redskins will simply be playing spoilers to this New York team's postseason plans.

If it wasn't for Jason Campbell being ruled out for the Washington Redskins this Sunday, this could've been a good old fashioned rivalry game. But since Campbell is probably out for the remainder of Washington's season, it should be a one-sided affair going towards New York's way no matter how bad Eli Manning will play on Sunday night.

Bet on the Giants -6.5 to beat the Redskins. Oh yeah, 36-year-old Todd Collins will start for the injured Campbell in the Redskins offense, not that it matters anyway.

Monday Night Football will feature one of the longtime rivalries in the NFC as the Chicago Bears visit the Metrodome to face their rivals, the Minnesota Vikings.

The Chicago Bears need more than a miracle to get their struggling asses back to the playoffs while the Minnesota Vikings caught fire at the right time, winning four games in a row in the final stretch of the season.

Another loss for the Chicago Bears on Monday night should ultimately end their campaign this year. And with the way rookie runningback Adrian Peterson has been playing for the Vikes, the Bears should just be looking forward for the next NFL draft lottery.

The rest of them picks for Week 15.

Cincinnati Bengals -6.5 over the San Francisco 49ers.

New Orleans Saints -2.5 over the Arizona Cardinals

Can the Indiana Pacers fuck with Heat in Miami too?

Why not? Almost everybody have anyway.

Yep, the Miami Heat are at a dismal 2-7 at home this 2007-08 NBA basketball season and the Indiana Pacers should have all the momentum they need to finish off these sick fucks from Miami on Saturday night.

I mean, c'mon, the Miami Heat have been so pathetic lately that any chances they have of getting back to the championship series, or even the goddamn playoffs, have probably faded along with Wade's miserable jump shot.

Hell, the last time these sick fucks were on the court, the Washington Wizards, without Gilbert Arenas mind you, simply destroyed them 104-91 and the only thing Miami can come up with during that game was a 22-point performance from, of all people, Chris ''I think I'm queer'' Quinn.

Udonis Haslem was the leading scorer among Miami's miserable starters as he finished the game with 19 points. Dwyane Wade had 17 in a pathetic 5-11 shooting and if it wasn't for his GAME-HIGH ten attempts from the foul line, this guy wouldn't score shit.

The Wizards, on the other hand, got all five of their starters raping the Miami defenders. All five Washington starters scored in double figures, led by DeShawn Stevenson who scored a game-high 26 points.

Yes, the pathetic Miami Heat actually let Stevenson score that much. Jeez...

The Miami Heat will be hosting the No.2 team in the Central division, the Indiana Pacers, and if these guys from Miami are not careful, they will probably get their asses humiliated again right in front of their ''faithful fans'' (yes, they still have some fans...) at the American Airlines Arena.

2008 FedEx Orange Bowl: Virginia Tech V Kansas Jayhawks

seth-edward-oneal.jpgAnd while Miami virtually doesn't have ANYTHING to look forward to this season in ANY kind of sport, at least they have THIS at Dolphin Stadium.

Yep, you read it, the 2008 FedEx Orange Bowl will be played in this cesspool dubbed ''Miami'' right in the middle of absurdity, Dolphin Stadium. Of all the places to have this great college football game, they chose this shithole huh? But hey, it's the Orange Bowl so I guess we can still hope for a good football game and forget about those Dolphins for a little bit.

It's offense against defense on this one people as the Kansas Jayhawks will bring their No.2 ranked offense to match-up against the Virginia Tech Hokies and their No.2 ranked defense.

Yep, the Kansas Jayhawks sure played good this season. They improved from a dismal 6-6 mark a year ago to 11-1 today.

Four Kansas Jayhawks were named all-Big 12 first team. Two of them, James McClinton, named the league's defensive lineman of the year and Marcus Herford, named the league's special teams player of the year after leading the Big 12 and ranking 8th nationally in kickoff returns.

The Kansas Jayhawks were 6th nationally in total offense gaining nearly 500 yards a game and second in scoring with more than 44 points per game.

Their rivals on January 3 are no pushovers either. Virginia Tech Hokies head coach Frank Beamer is third in the league's all-time leaders in winningnest coaches. He has 209 wins, behind only to Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno.

This is the 15th consecutive bowl appearance for the Virginia Tech Hokies, including four BCS games. Virginia Tech is one of only two teams, the other being the USC Trojans, to produce 10 or more wins in each of the past four seasons.

While this is the first meeting ever between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Kansas Jayhawks, it would be the 21st meeting between the current Big 12 and current ACC members. The ACC leads the series 11-9. Nine of the 20 previous meetings have decided the national championship.

Can the Patriots remain Perfect against the Steelers?

Yep, as ya'll know by now, the Pats are still perfect.

After THIRTEEN WEEKS into the 2007-08 NFL football season, New England is still in pursuit of the perfection set by the 1972 Miami Dolphins.

Last week, they were able to deny the Baltimore Ravens of becoming the first ever team to deal them their first loss and boy, did those Ravens came THAT close from accomplishing just that.

Hell, the Ravens were holding a 24-20 lead over the New England Patriots with just two more minutes to go. Unfortunately for them, Tom Brady just refuses to lose this year, as he came up with the game-winning 8-yard touchdown pass to Jabar Gaffney with only 44 seconds left to play to give the Pats the 27-24 lead and ultimately, their 12th straight win of the season.

This Sunday, the very team many people are proclaiming to be the one to stop New England of its pursuit of perfection visits Foxboro as the Pittsburgh Steelers collide with the Pats in a game between the No.1 defense and the No.1 offense of the NFL.

As good as the Pats are this season offensively, (heck... these guys are scoring over 50 points this season...) the Pittsburgh Steelers have been as good on the defensive end. These guys slowed down a high-scoring Cincinnati Bengals team last week, limiting them to 10 points, after virtually shutting down Miami to ZERO in a wet and ugly defensive minded Monday night game.
I know, I know, everybody can do that to the pathetic Miami Dolphins this season but still...

So who should you take in this game between the Pats and the Steelers? Of course, ALWAYS TAKE THE PATS. As good as Pittsburgh is defensively, Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Wes Welker are just on a whole different level this season.

Besides, these guys already took a defensive minded team (that's Baltimore...) out of their game last week and I reckon they'll do much of the same against Pittsburgh come game time.

Can the Miami Dolphins stay Perfectly Pathetic?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgYou have to admit, that's catchy, even for somebody who is unfortunate enough to live in Miami.

The Fish are 0-12 this 2007-08 NFL football season. Yes, the same franchise that recorded the only undefeated season in the NFL back in 1972, is yet to taste a win this year. And while the New England Patriots continue their bid to match that undefeated mark in 1972, Miami is in danger of finishing the season looking like retards.

Don Shula, the coach who engineered that undefeated run in '72, is dumbfounded on whether the Miami Dolphins should keep current head coach Cam Cameron or not. But for what it's worth, he does have some advice for the guy.

''Cam has to entrust what he wants to do offensively with someone else,''' Don Shula told emcee Jim Mandich and an audience at the Miami Dolphins Touchdown Club luncheon last Tuesday.

''He's a great offensive coach and great play-caller.''

But, Don Shula said, ''In your preparation, if you're a play-caller, you have to be thinking all offense to get ready for what's going to happen. If you're the head coach, you have to be the head coach of the entire team, not just head coach of the offense. I hope he goes in that direction to entrust some of the play-calling to whoever he believes it should be.''

Don Shula said if he were coaching a team with this kind of record, ''I'd be raising some hell'' and making changes. But ironically, Miami Dolphins players have said Cam Cameron doesn't yell at them, even with the kind of shit they're in right now.

Don Shula said, ''The worst thing is to try to be somebody other than who you are. You've got to have leadership from within, guys that just won't stand for losing. The coaches have got to give the leadership they're required to give.''

Coach, at this point, you can't expect anything like that from Miami.

2008 Sugar Bowl: Georgia Bulldogs V Hawaii Warriors

The 74th AllState Sugar Bowl Classic is on at the Louisiana Superdome probably to give football fans in New Orleans something to smile about.

Yep, it's the Georgia Bulldogs and the Hawaii Warriors battling in the 2008 AllState Sugar Bowl game. Both teams have just been phenomenal this season and it'll be interesting to see these two red-hot teams clash on one football field.

First, the Georgia Bulldogs. These guys are on a roll with a six-game winning streak, capped off with a 31-17 victory at Georgia Tech on Nov.24. Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Matthew Stafford has passed for 2,348 yards and 18 touchdowns this season while freshman running back Knowshon Moreno has topped the 100-yard rushing mark six times, rushing for 1,273 yards and 12 touchdowns.

As if that wasn't enough offense, Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Sean Bailey leads all Bulldog players in receptions (37) and receiving yards (597) and is tied for the team lead in touchdowns (four).

At the other side of the field, the Hawaii Warriors STILL is the ONLY undefeated team in this year's crop of huge football BOWL games. Makes you wonder why these guys didn't get the BCS national championship invite eh? This is the first time the Hawaii Warriors completed an undefeated season, earning them their first ever BCS bowl appearance in the process.

The Hawaii Warriors currently hold the nation's longest winning streak at 13 games and have won 22 of their last 23 overall. Head coach June Jones has posted a 76-40 record in nine seasons with the Warriors and will now be looking for his 77th against the Georgia Bulldogs at the Sugar Bowl, probably his most important win to date.

The Georgia Bulldogs have won 13 of their last 15 contests, while the Hawaii Warriors have won 13 games in a row. With both teams' potency on offense, this could make for one of the highest scoring games in the history of the BCS.

Who will win the 2008 AllState Sugar Bowl Game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Hawaii Warriors? AcesAce Sportsbook has the odds.

Floyd Mayweather V Ricky Hatton for WBC Welterweight Title

And mind you, this is a boxing match between two undefeated fighters.

Yep, it's on this Saturday as defending Ring magazine and WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., well, DEFENDS his title against Ricky Hatton in a 12-round boxing encounter in Las Vegas.

There sure are quite a number of things you can call this one besides the fact that it's a WBC welterweight championship bout. The obvious one is of course, a battle of two undefeated fighters with Floyd Mayweather standing at 38-0 with 24 KOs while Ricky Hatton stands at 43-0 with 31 of them coming by way of knockout. (I've always wanted to say that...)

This fight could be dubbed as USA vs. England too because obviously, the American Mayweather is set to face one of the best fighters coming out of Manchester, England. That, of course, is Hatton.

While were at it, I'm going to throw this one as well: we can also call it as the present day's version of Apollo Creed vs. Rocky Balboa. For all ya'll not familiar with the Rocky movies, Balboa was coming into a fight against a great black champion in the very first movie (first of six...) who virtually decimated everyone unfortunate enough to meet him in the ring.

Like Rocky Balboa, Ricky Hatton is coming into this fight against a great black champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr., as the heavy underdog on Saturday. Hell, and just because we're now in this Rocky I analogy, we might even hear the crowd chant ''Ricky! Ricky!'' so loud that we might think we're watching some Rocky movie for crying out loud.

Whatever the case may be, we're definitely in for one classic WBC welterweight championship match and just because Mayweather just damn talks too much, (like someone I know from work who just irritates the shit out of me...) I am hoping Ricky Hatton knocks the shit out of this fucking monkey.

Can Ricky Hatton beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. and become the new WBC welterweight champion? AcesAce Sportsbook has the odds.

Anderson Varejao now hates the Cleveland Cavaliers?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgI know you've noticed by now, Anderson Varejao ain't playing for the Cavs anymore.

Yep, while the Cleveland Cavaliers try to go for a second consecutive trip to the NBA finals this 2007-08 NBA basketball season, the young 6'10'' forward, Anderson Varejao, is nowhere to be seen on any of the NBA games we've been watching these days.

So where the heck is Anderson Varejao? He's somewhere in Brazil, shooting hoops, working on his jump hook and, more importantly, staying in shape while he waits for that call that just might get his ass back playing in the NBA again.

What happened with the Cleveland Cavaliers you ask? Apparently, Varejao started to ask the Cavaliers management to pay him more money. Unfortunately for him, Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry refuses to pay him shit.

''I just want to be treated fairly and I don't think Danny's done that,'' Anderson Varejao said.

''I wanted to come back. I love the fans and I really love my teammates. But there are others there that have made it very difficult. It's gotten to the point that I don't want to play there anymore. I'm just hoping for a sign-and-trade at this point.''

Anderson Varejao was a vital factor in his team's run to the NBA Finals last season. (Yes, even though they got their asses swept by the San Antonio Spurs...) His 6.8 points and 6.7 rebounds in 23 minutes per game last year were really not that impressive but it's the intangibles that he does that makes him a very reliable teammate.

Anderson Varejao led the league in drawing charges, making his defense invaluable to the Cleveland Cavaliers last season.

The Cavs' popular forward wants considerably more than the team is offering. He turned down the Cavs' one-year, $1.2 million tender offer. (To retain a restricted free agent, a team must make a tender offer.)

He also refused Cleveland's opening offer of five years, $20 million, and then its latest offer of five years, $32 million, with a starting salary slightly below the midlevel exception.

The Green Bay Packers are hot, so what does the struggling Texas A&M Aggies do? They hire one.

4-4 in conference play. That's the dismal campaign the Aggies are looking at right now.

And as the 2007 NCAA college football season winds down towards the final BCS bowl games, as expected, the Aggies are nowhere to be found in any ranking system whatsoever. Hell, we could use another team to come out of nowhere and rank on top (like most teams do this season...) but the Aggies just can't seem to get the job done.

With Texas A&M Aggies head coach Dennis Franchione resigning his post after what has been an abysmal year, the Aggies sign former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Sherman. Why him? Well, for one, they know that the Green Bay Packers are just kicking ASS in the NFL and at this point, they need all the help they can have to at least give themselves a chance next season.

Mike Sherman will return to the school where he coached the offensive line from 1989-93 and again under R.C. Slocum from 1995-96.

''It's like coming back home,'' Mike Sherman said of returning to the Texas A&M Aggies. ''I told my wife, you can unpack the boxes on this move. I've moved about 10 times in my career. You can put up the pictures and throw the boxes away, because we're going to be here awhile.''

Staying in Texas could very well be an understatement for Mike Sherman after he signed a $1.8 million contract that will keep him in Texas for seven years. Jeez... That's longer than the 17 relationships I've had, combined.

''I've had opportunities at other jobs I didn't take,'' Sherman said. ''I've been a head coach. I know what it's going to take to be a head coach. I understand the commitment and sacrifice my family's going to have to make.''

''So I'm not going to delve into something unless I feel like we have a legitimate chance to win championships.''

Hmm... If that's the case, why in the hell did he made the trip here in the first place? This team is just terrible.
