What the?!? Nevada Athletic Commission sanctioned an event from the Ultimate Fighting Championship?
Were they the ones who suspended Mike Tyson for going ''UFC'' on Evander Holyfield's ear?
And now they sanctioned a looming Ultimate Fighting Championship event? Jeez... What's next? They'll let controversial ex-WWE official Earl Hebner referee for them and screw another Canadian? (Oh by the way, Canada is STILL a little sensitive over that one... Hee-hee...)
Yep, it seems the world has gone mad this March, (it's March Madness after all...) as the Nevada Athletic Commission sanctioned a match from the UFC, a sport described by some as ''blood genre.''
It's not long ago that this same commission suspended ''Iron'' Mike Tyson for biting a piece of the ear of former World Champion, Evander ''The Real Deal'' Holyfield. Now, after ten years of virtually screwing Tyson of what's left of his troubled career, they gave UFC the go-ahead call.
My my... Sports sure has changed through the years eh?
How come we're suspending Mike Tyson only to welcome something bloodier than Holyfield's ear in Tyson's mouth?
''It's the million-dollar question,'' says Matt Masucci, an assistant professor of sports studies at San Jose State University.
''It's the question we've been debating for thousands of years. Maybe nature loads the gun but society pulls the trigger. I don't know.''
Wa?!?
