F1 Champion Fernando Alonso is afraid of the dark
Yep, Fernando Alonso doesn't like the dark one bit.
With the 2007 F1 Season drawing closer and closer, he may have no choice but to deal with it. Apparently, Formula One officials are contemplating on staging night races, if this idea comes to pass, it will be the first time Formula One hold races during the night.
And as far as Fernando Alonso and night races are concerned, he hates that idea. Fernando Alonso has questioned the wisdom of staging night races in F1, saying it could be dangerous for the drivers.
F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone is keen to see night races introduced into F1, with the organizers of this weekend's 2007 Australian Grand Prix revealing that they would welcome their race becoming a late-night event.
Fernando Alonso, being the F1 champion of the last two seasons, doesn't want ANYTHING in his sport to change, considering all the success he already has with it. Of course, racing in the night is a big deal, with the limited vision night driving has.
''I did a demonstration in Valencia when we launched the car in January and it was at night,'' the new McLaren ace driver Fernando Alonso said. ''And it was extremely difficult to see anything, to see the road.''
''For me, it's very hard to believe that they will have strong enough lights to see perfectly okay to have a race. But sometimes, you know, Formula One surprises you.''
Fernando Alonso has always been afraid of the dark, afraid that the boogeyman might come out to get him. Kidding...
