David Beckham beckons for Los Angeles Galaxy

Yep, Posh Spice's Spice Boy is headed for the U-S-of-A.

David Beckham apparently has agreed to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy and join America's own Major League Soccer. Probably to bring some sense to what has been one big miserable joke.

David Beckham joining to Major League Soccer could very well be the biggest news to come to the league since Alan Rothenberg and his money men first revealed details of the operation prior to its 1996 launch.

''This is a huge step forward for the league, that we can attract someone of that stature means so much,'' New England Revolution coach Steve Nicol said.

Beckham's move from Real Madrid to the MLS will certainly give the sport a little hype in a country where the Tony Romos and the Kobe Bryants rule. Now that Beckham is in the U.S., can the United States win the 2010 FIFA World Cup in Africa now?

David Beckham was asked about his move from Real Madrid to the Los Angeles Galaxy and play at the MLS and he had this to say.

''I've played now for two of the biggest clubs in the world. I've played at the highest level for 15 years and now I think I need another challenge,'' Beckham said.

Beckham's contract with Real Madrid runs out at the end of the season and he has been negotiating a new deal that would keep him at the Bernabeu until 2009. On Wednesday Real sporting director Predrag Mijatovic said that Beckham's contract with the Spanish giants had not been renewed.

But the club later denied that the star midfielder was on his way out, stressing that negotiations over a new deal were still ongoing.

So much for that bullshit eh?
