Buckeyes College Football Fans Feasting on Gators already
And to think the biggest game of the NCAA College Football year is still a couple of days away.
It will be Monday when the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes meet the no.2 Florida Gators for the BCS national championship. However, Buckeyes fans are already feasting on Gator meat. How? Read on.
Ohio stores are stocking up on alligator meat in anticipation of demand from Ohio State fans planning pregame feasts for Monday's championship between the top-ranked Buckeyes and the no.2 Florida Gators.
Yep, you read it, they are actually asking for alligator meat.
Akron's West Point Market is selling alligator meat for $14.99 a pound. Columbus-area Meijer stores are selling frozen alligator fillets for $6.99 a pound, telling customers in an advertisement to ''bring home your own slice of gator.''
The advertisement for the Meijer promotion includes a drawing of a snarling buckeye nut with the tail of an alligator sticking out of its mouth.
Nice.
Heisman trophy winner, Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Troy Smith, will definitely be out for Gator meat come Monday for the BCS national championship and I don't see anyone from the Florida Gators who can stop Mr. Smith from doing just that.
Hell, Florida Gators product Rex Grossman could be feeling what is to come of his Florida Gators too, playing tentative and basically scared out of his wits the last couple of weeks on the NFL Football field.
