San Antonio Spurs destined for another NBA title?

The answer to that my friend is a resounding HELL NO.

These guys are a bunch of dastardly bastards always trying to screw everybody over just to get ahead and win games. There, I said it. Don't get me wrong though, I still hate the Miami Heat the most but as far as the San Antonio Spurs go, they're right behind my favorite team from Florida.

I mean, c'mon, how can you argue about these Spurs being a bunch of dirty players? Perhaps Amare Stoudemire said it best. They're dirty. Period. And we all saw that right after they took care of the Denver Nuggets in the first round.

The San Antonio Spurs, after eliminating Denver, were set for an epic seven-game series with the Phoenix Suns in the second round. And if you've been following the 2007 NBA Playoffs, you know just how these guys from Texas screwed Phoenix.

Robert Horry puts Steve Nash down with a vicious shoulder block and lo and behold, both Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw gets suspended for the pivotal Game 5. How crazy was that? Of course, the Suns lost game 5 before bowing to the Spurs in Game 6 at San Antonio, Texas.

In the Western Conference finals, the Spurs faced the young Utah Jazz led by up and coming stars, Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams. This time, it was Manu Ginobili, flopping his way all around the goddamn court to frustrate Utah and have them lose focus in the series.

Of course, the Spurs won again and yep, I had this sick feeling in my stomach since.

Are these guys destined for an NBA title? NO. Why? Because their silly little tricks won't work in the 2007 NBA Finals. (I hope...) Yeah, sure, the Miami Heat got away with it when they screwed Dallas in last year's championship series but if the refs were to allow another team to do the same for the second consecutive year then that will just be so wrong.

The NBA Finals are there to decide who is the best team in basketball, NOT to award the team who has tricks to fuck up everyone else.

Who will win the 2007 NBA Championship? Here are some odds from Bodog:

Detroit Pistons 2/1

Cleveland Cavaliers 12/1

San Antonio Spurs 5/8 (boo!)
