Can Seahawks end Packers year and retire Brett Favre?
One thing's for sure though, they ended Todd Collins' career last Saturday.
And if there comes a time when Todd Collins decides to strap it up again, the Seattle Seahawks will be there to remind him how he should've walked away from the game five years ago. He he...
The Seahawks visit the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field for the NFC divisional playoffs. Last time the Seahawks got here, a cocky Rex Grossman beat them down to give his Chicago Bears a 27-24 win and I reckon they won't be getting further past the NFC divisional playoffs again.
Sure, the Seattle Seahawks were impressive against the emotional Washington Redskins last Saturday. Matt Hasselbeck just kept on firing en route to a 35-14 win for his team over Washington to earn himself a divisional playoff duel with Brett Favre.
Hell, the Seahawks were so impressive last Saturday that Matt Hasselbeck was back making bold statements again. ''I'll just say it right now. We want the ball, and we're gonna score,'' Hasselbeck said.
Ironically, the last time Hasselbeck made himself famous for making bold statements such as this one was when he made an ill-fated statement back in January 4, 2004 after the overtime coin toss that led to a wild card playoff loss to, guess who, the Green Bay Packers.
Matt Hasselbeck and the rest of the Seahawks will return to the scene of that game. Seattle's wild victory Saturday over the Washington Redskins propelled the Seahawks to an NFC divisional showdown with Green Bay next Saturday afternoon at Lambeau Field.
Will the stupid Hasselbeck make yet another ''bold statement?'' Well, his teammate has.
''I'm going up there to get a victory,'' Seattle Seahawks safety Deon Grant said. ''I'm not trying to go out and party. I'm not trying to be excited by all the history in that stadium. I'm just going up there for a victory.''
And that's when you know the Packers already have this game won.
Who will win this NFC divisional playoff game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers? AcesAce Sportsbook has the odds.
