Can the Jacksonville Jaguars upset the Patriots in the AFC Divisional Round of the 2008 NFL Playoffs?
Yep, the 2008 NFL playoffs visit Foxboro for an AFC divisional playoff war.
The red hot Jacksonville Jaguars visit the perfect New England Patriots as David Garrard try to lift his boys past this powerhouse team from Boston that hasn't even taste defeat yet.
Last Saturday, the Jacksonville Jaguars got things going after a shocker in Pittsburgh that they almost let slip away. The Jaguars could've easily cruised through this AFC wild card encounter with the Pittsburgh Steelers but after blowing an 18-point lead, the Jaguars looked as if they were ready to give the game away.
Instead, the Jacksonville Jaguars did something that could hopefully give them another shocking W in Foxboro next Saturday, they found the ability to make plays when they needed them.
Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee was the hero in Pittsburgh, scoring via a 25-yard field goal with 37 seconds left. But the fact of the matter is, Jacksonville had more than a few more options to shock Pittsburgh that day.
Whether it was David Garrard running for 32 yards on fourth-and-2 on the winning drive or a ridiculously solid defense that has the ability to give the football back to you whenever it counts, the Jaguars beat the Steelers with help from virtually everybody in their team.
''These are the games that allow you to build character,'' David Garrard said. ''With the stage we're on, everything is going to be magnified, including the mistakes. But we ultimately won this game as a team. Everybody did their part.''
Against NFL Most Valuable Player Tom Brady and the rest of the New England Patriots? I don't think this melodramatic shit will work against a team that just became the second team since the 1972 Miami Dolphins to go through a season undefeated.
Jeez... These guys will lose to New England by three touchdowns.
