NFL Teams cutting players and getting rid of their garbage

Yep, NFL teams are beginning to clean up their lockers as players are getting cut here and there.

And I'm sure, some of you never expected to see these players trashed by their teams who were suppose to be ''loyal'' to them. Well, I guess loyalty has no place for NFL Football eh? Not if you SUCK anyway.

The Pittsburgh Steelers FAILED to defend their Super Bowl title last season, hell, they even failed to get to the goddamn NFL Playoffs. Guess what these morons did in an effort to fix that, they got rid of Joey Porter, the heart of their legendary ''Steel Curtain'' defense.

Jeez... I know these guys have a new head coach with Mike Tomlin replacing ''the chin'' Bill Cowher but jeez... You don't expect a team to improve by getting rid of the heart of your defense. That only happens to NBA Basketball with Ben Wallace getting the boot from *ahem* the Detroit Pistons.

Joey Porter and running back Verron Haynes were released Thursday as the Pittsburgh Steelers got under the salary cap. But the decision to release Porter wasn't as much a cap move as it was a change in direction.

A three-time Pro Bowl performer, Porter turns 30 on March 22. And with new coach Mike Tomlin taking over for Bill Cowher, the Steelers were looking to go in a different direction with their linebacking corps. Porter is one of the league's most outspoken players and is willing to verbally challenge opponents.

Now, in a move probably EVERYBODY expected, Drew Bledsoe was released by the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys found gold in Tony Romo. I know, he blew his team's chances in the playoffs with that unforgettable fumble, but hey, Romo is young whereas Bledsoe has retirement breeding down his neck.

Drew Bledsoe, the first overall pick in the 1993 draft by the New England Patriots, started 193 games in NFL Football, including the first six in 2006 before he was replaced by Tony Romo, who then earned a spot on the NFC Pro Bowl team. Bledsoe was due a $1 million roster bonus and would have made $4.5 million next season.

Too bad.

Will the Dallas Cowboys be the favorites to win Super Bowl XLII in Glendale, Arizona? Here are the odds from Bodog:

San Diego Chargers 6/1

New England Patriots 10/1

Chicago Bears 8/1

Indianapolis Colts 7/1
