More 2008 NFL Week 2 Betting Picks and Tips
Yes, we have more picks for ya' starting with the champs.
The defending Super Bowl XLII champions New York Giants visit the St. Louis Rams and I have to stress that on paper, this could be as lopsided as Shaquille O'Neal taking on Ray Allen in a free throw shooting contest.
It's the Giants and the Rams this Sunday as the 2008 NFL football season continues for Week 2 of the greatest sport in th world. It doesn't get any better than that people and if Week 1 was to tell us anything about Eli, it would have to be the fact that he's ready to take on the challenge as one of the league's elite field generals.
The St. Louis Rams could only come up with three points to start the season in their game against Philly. And since the same Giants defense that put Tom Brady to the ground faster than 50 Cent would on a five-dollar whore will be taking over St. Louis, the Rams are in danger of coming up with less than three points.
Pick Eli Manning to lead the Giants to take advantage of the Rams by two touchdowns.
The New England Patriots and the New York Jets resume their classic AFC rivalry this Sunday as they meet for the first time this season at Giants Stadium. However, as colorful as this rivalry has become through the years in the league, things will be a little different this season.
The obvious one is of course, new Jets quarterback Brett Favre. This is his first Pats-Jets game and you just know that the immortal one is pumped up for it. Tom Brady, who was taken out for the rest of the season by Kansas City, will obviously miss what is sure to be another classic.
Normally, we would've taken the New England Patriots over the New York Jets by a gazillion points but since the Patriots will be missing Tom Brady, the reigning league MVP, we're picking Favre to win his first Pats-Jets game, leading the Jets by a touchdown.
Pick the Jets over the New England Patriots in New York City.
The Miami Dolphins were the first ones to fall victim to Favre's Jets and when they take on the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday at the University of Phoenix Stadium, ''victim'' will still be the title slapped on Miami when it's all said and done. Besides, there's nothing new with Miami anyway other than the fact that more retards joined them this year.
Miami losing Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas in the offseason was huge, that's why you should pick the Arizona Cardinals to win by a touchdown over the fucking retards from Miami.
Sunday Night Football will feature a defensive struggle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns. Both teams still have one of the best defensive schemes in the league and while that defense won the Steelers a game against the Texans last week, the same can't be said of the Browns, who lost to the high-flying Cowboys 28-10.
It is well documented that Cleveland Browns Stadium is still one of the toughest places to win a football game and I don't expect those guys to drop another game at the Dog Pound for the second straight week.
Pick the Cleveland Browns to beat Ben Roethlisberger and his Pittsburgh Steelers by a field goal.
And finally, Monday Night Football will feature another one of those rivalries that makes football arguably the greatest game in the world. On one end, we have Terrell Owens trying to help the Dallas Cowboys to be great again. At the other end, we have Donovan McNabb trying to lead the Philadelphia Eagles back on top after his run-ins with Owens back in Philly a few years ago as teammates stopped the Eagles from doing so.
Donovan McNabb had a strong game last week after being taken out by injuries last season. With McNabb back in form to get 361 yards from the air, he scored three touchdowns to beat the Rams convincingly, 38-3.
The Philadelphia Eagles sure looked like they're ready to take over the NFC again and the Rams were the welcome mat.
The Cowboys on the other hand, did win their first game of the season but it was not as impressive as Philly's. The passing game was working as usual for Dallas as Terrell Owens nabbed one of Romo's passes for a touchdown to beat Cleveland 28-10.
There's something about playing against McNabb that brings out the best in Terrell Owens. The last time he played against Philly, he went for a whopping 174 receiving yards to humiliate his former teammates. Expect more of the same from T.O. against Philly this Monday night.
Pick the Dallas Cowboys to win the aerial show against Philly by a touchdown.
