Bodog Offers Poker Mini-SOP for people who can't afford to go to Vegas for the 2008 WSOP Tournament

And NO, Bodog is not starting to take 30-minute calls for $4.99 while you jack off like a madman.

If you are unable to cough up the cash to go to Vegas and join the 2008 World Series of Poker, here's one way to feel like you're a part of the action. Yes, like most of the online poker sites we have in the Internet, Bodog is chiming in with the 2008 WSOP bandwagon.

Bodog Poker has created an online poker tournament series dubbed Mini-SOP that will run at the same time as the real WSOP, event for event! The best part of this tournament is that buy-ins are equivalent to a mere 1 percent of the WSOP buy-ins.

This means that if you want to enter all 25 events, you only need $821. That's a drop in the pond compared to the thousands of dollars you need to join the 2008 WSOP tournament in Vegas.
Bodog's Mini-SOP will run from May 30 to July 3.

On July 10, players can join the online cheapo equivalent of the Main Event where the top three players will be granted a $12,000 prize package to the 2009 World Series of Poker. The 27 players who will get to join this event will be determined by the Tournament Leader Board that will be posted on the Bodog site throughout the tournament series.

The top four leaders will automatically get a seat to the main event. Players who finish in 5th through 100th place on the leader board will be invited to join a qualifier tournament where the top 18 finishers get a seat.

If you still don't make it, don't worry, you can forget about skill and just rely on pure luck as an additional 5 seats will be given away randomly to players who entered at least 3 Mini-SOP events.

Talk about going a step ahead of the competition eh?

With this online tournament series, Bodog will become the first online poker site to give away seats to the 2009 World Series of Poker. Of course, if you are still scrounging around for a seat to the 2008 WSOP, you can still check out Bodog's qualifiers. Bodog's WSOP poker satellites start for as little as $1 so you don't need deep pockets. With Bodog giving away six Main Event prize packages a week, you've still got a fighting chance to go to Vegas and play the WSOP in style.

Which player will last the longest at the 2008 World Series of Poker? Bodog sportsbook has the odds.

Doyle Brunson 7.00

Daniel Negreanu 5.50
