No Treble for Manchester United says Sir Alex Ferguson

How's that for jinxing everything Manchester United have going for them this year eh?

Manchester United is STILL in contention for the Premiership, the 2007 FA Cup and the Champions League this year. However, that doesn't impress Sir Alex Ferguson one bit as he believes that Man-U won't be able to repeat the treble glory they had back in 1999.

Barely eight years ago, Manchester United was able to come up with a dramatic end to their season, winning the Premiership, the FA Cup and the Champions League all in the same campaign.

They are still on track of repeating all that again but Sir Alex Ferguson believes that another treble campaign is near to an impossibility.

''No one talks about that. It is a possibility but more of an impossibility given the number of games we have,'' Sir Alex Ferguson said.

''I think the competition in the Premier Division has got harder in the last few years and the standard is better in Europe.''

Hmm... Already releasing himself perhaps from the pressure of repeating Manchester United's historic treble in 1999?

For what it's worth, Sir Alex Ferguson feels the Premiership is now the best league in the world.

''The quality we have in the Premier League is the highest. I think we have overtaken Spain,'' he said.

''The excitement and entertainment in the Premier League is second to none.''

Of course, Fergie here is yet to get laid.

Can Manchester United qualify for the Champions League? Who will win the 2007 Champions League in June? Bodog has the odds.

Chelsea 3/1

Arsenal 10/1

Manchester United 5/1

Liverpool 9/1
